I booked Grecian Park Hotel based on my aunt’s high recommendation from a decade ago. Unfortunately, it fell way short of 5-star standards. Our room was filthy—human hair on the floor, uncleaned bathroom/bedroom, and a slow-draining shower. Housekeeping was sent up but still missed dirty spots. After complaining, the manager politely moved us to a pool/sea view room. It was only then we realised our first room was missing basic items like hand soap, hand towels, and the welcome wine. We asked for a late checkout or to merge into one room for an extra hour before our 3:30 PM transfer. Reception refused all late checkouts as none were available. They cut off our Half-Board entitlement the moment we checked out, refusing to let us have lunch. Guest Relations (Barbara) claimed "all hotels do this." Having stayed at Golden Coast, Grecian Sands, and Napa Plaza, I know for a fact this isn't true—it's pure corporate greed. Meanwhile, we heard from actual workers at the hotel that other complaining guests were handed free Half-Board upgrades instantly as they weren’t happy with their room they’d be offered an upgrade too. Guests reserved pool beds with towels early in the morning and didn't show up for hours with zero hotel enforcement. Worse, I saw the lifeguard off his chair playing table tennis at 9:00 / 9:30 AM while kids were swimming. Non-veg food was average ("mid"). Some guests had zero hygiene decorum, picking up buffet fruit with bare hands. Room water was inconsistent (1 bottle for us vs. 2 for the room next door), and our bin was left unemptied for two days. Reception staff had an underlying animosity after our complaints (except for one lovely trainee!). Denying late checkouts also means departing guests are slumped all over the lobby sofas with shoes and bags everywhere! Positives: Good breakfast menu and lovely Friday pottery session. Generous €70 room credit for food/drinks (though it strictly expired at 1:00 PM on checkout day). Convenient bus stop right outside. Buggy to the Konnos Bay (even though the sea itself was dirty like plaster band aids and floating dirt which has nothing to do with the hotel but the beach isn’t WOW) You know you’ve had worse customers at this hotel, we don’t even fall under the category of worse for simply (and kindly) working with you to resolve the cleanliness of our room. Nice to see that some locals also like to holiday at this hotel. I wouldn’t get the half board again. Stick to bed and breakfast - venture out to the local areas for dinner!
