Dioklecijan Hotel & Residence

Myself and my husband stayed for 2 weeks in October. There were so many positives to this hotel but in particular the staff. Each and every one we encountered were so polite, welcoming, and friendly. They genuinely couldn't do enough for you. In particular Marylyn, William and Jake stood out to us. The hotel itself is lovely, the spa area and Pol deck are very relaxing and calming. The hot tub was an added bonus as the pool was very cold in October. Although very quiet and plenty of beds to pick from. It's a 20 minute walk downhill into Split old town (so it all uphill on the way back) the walk back can be a struggle. However there is a bus stop right outside the hotel that gets you into the old town in 10 minutes and they come every 25 minutes. It costs €1.00 if you have the app or €2 if you are paying on the bus. The only downside is there is very little around the hotel to do unless you go into the old town. There was only 1 other restaurant close by (across the road) no bars or other restaurants. The hotel menu is quite expensive if you are staying for more than a few nights but the food is very nice. We tended to eat whilst out in the old town in the early evening, The hotel cafe bar, and restaurant bar close quite early (10.00pm) but most places closed around the same time due to the time of year. All in all we did have a lovely relaxing time and would definitely stay again. Thanks to everyone from reception, housekeeping, the restaurant, the cafe bar and the rooftop area for helping to make our stay very enjoyable.

Highly recommend this hotel, staff so friendly especially restaurant Jake, very clean and tidy, good food, bus stop near by into town would certainly go there again!

Beautiful views from balcony of mountains and sea Panoramic rooftop pool, bar and sun-beds, well designed and staff friendly. Only once was there not space for us in a 7 day stay and swam twice a day without problems of size of pool. Breakfast and reception staff friendly too , made us breakfast twice for early trips Located in residential area but centre of Split within easy walking distance, uphill to get back to hotel but Bolt/Uber reasonable price and easily available. Only negatives no coffee ( decaf , milk, tea in room, not all staff welcoming and friendly so didn’t give you a feeling of always being welcome, breakfast options great but meals very poor choice although cafe did terrific coffee and cake Good base, with good views but not a hotel I would spend time in

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in mid September as part of a tour of different part of Croatia. Overall the stay was excellent and one of our favourites in recent years. The hotel has a general feeling of quality, had several seating areas and although a little bit more expensive than some, it was worth it and good value for money. Our bedroom (classic) was very good, nicely designed, good air conditioning, a partial sea view and the bed was enormous. The location was good for us with underground parking (13 Euro per night) and an Uber only costs about 5 Euros to the old town area. The roof top bar and pool area was excellent, drinks at the bar were very reasonably priced, breakfast included a good mix of hot and cold foods and all staff were very welcoming.

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights in Room 103, a spacious double room on the first floor, with a sunny balcony which faced the sea. From the friendly and welcoming reception team to the housekeeping and bar staff, everyone made us feel genuinely welcome. Our room was large, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The aircon was a real bonus. The minibar fridge wasn’t working but this wasn’t a problem for us. The highlight of our stay was the wonderful rooftop terrace with a pool, hot tub and bar. Being able to swim and sunbathe on a city break was a treat. Would definitely stay here again.
