Gava Waterman Island Cottages

My partner and I stayed at the Gava Waterman Island Cottages from 5th to the 12th Aug, staying in one of their Vineyard Cottages with Shared Pool which we booked as an Easyjet holiday. Transfer Firstly the transfer from Spilt to the resort was really easy and shouldn't be a reason not to stay at this resort. Easyjet use a private company to take you from the airport to the ferry port in Split. We waited for our transfer for about 10 minutes, we had an 8 person minivan and shared with a family of 5. The ferry ride across to Brac Island was pleasant. Once you arrive at Supestar port, a second car takes you on to the resort. Took about two hours in total. CheckIn We arrived at around 12pm so our room wasn't quite ready they said to check back every now and then as it may be ready sooner than 3pm. We left our luggage at reception, were given our wristbands and a short tour which ended at the restaurant where we had our lunch. At around 1pm we were informed that our room was ready. Room Our room was lovely, immaculatly clean. Plenty of storage which is a rarity. Air-conditioning was excellent. Our shared pool was very clean as was the decking area. A suggestion to improve the room is to have a small seating area as there is room, some art work above the bed would also be nice.(looking at photos online there should have been a chair and some art work). Shower was good. WiFi was good. In room safe was free to use. Restaurant Food got better as the week went on, the beef brisket on Thursday night was good as was the asian themed night, always something to eat but meal times very quickly became a quick event, usually in and out within 15 minutes. Breakfast and Dinner were better than Lunch. Pool The three swimming pools and tanning areas are well kept and clean. The pools were not overly chlorinated so no sore eyes. No pool is allocated to adults only so children playing in all three which didn't really bother us. Bring your own beach towels otherwise there is a charge of €15 for the week. Pool Bar Drinks were fine, standard all Inclusive. No branded items unless you wanted to pay extra. Ice Cream from outdoors pool bar was lovely but sadly only had cones the first day after which it was a cup of ice cream with a wooden stirer, no spoons. Evening Entertainment The entertainment staff work really hard and try to get the kids up for mini disco etc but entertainment for adults was lacking. I was expecting a quiz for the"Trivia Night" but it was more of a game with people running up to give answers. The area used for entertainment needs some money to improv it. The pool bar was the only place to get drinks of an evening. Drinks were always served in plastic cups. Spa On our second and final day we both had 60 minute aromatherapy massages which were great. The prices were suprising for a resort spa with both massages only costing €90, at other resorts we have easily spent this much each. Location The resort is very remote. Milna is about a 35/40 minute walk which it was far too hot for, taxis can be booked costing about €15 euros each way but to be honest there isn't much to see once there. Excursions seemed expensive (approx €150 pp) these we're boat trips to neighbouring islands. We wanted to visit Krka National Park but after pricing it up (Taxi to Supestar, Ferry to Split, Car Hire, Entry Tickets, Return Ferry and Return Taxi) it would have easily cost over €300 which seemed a lot, we're also warned about the sometimes 2 hour queues to get on a ferry to Split so we decided to rent a car for the day to visit different beaches on Brac, this cost €170 for a Opel Astra, from the hire company in resort. The car was not particularly well kept, have a fair few debts and scratches. In all honesty there is very little to see and we were back within 3 hours, only so many viewing points you can visit and parking was all day rates. Overall The spa, pools and our accommodation were lovely and deserves the 4* rating, sadly, food, drinks and entertainment wouldn't be anymore than a 3*. The staff were all excellent and very welcoming, those serving food were always so friendly. I wish we had done more research in to the surrounding area as there was really nothing to do even when having the car, my partner and I aren't ones to spend hours lying in the sun.

The location is easy to reach by public transport, and we had a fantastic time here. I particularly want to highlight the outstanding food on offer. We enjoyed every meal, with a great variety of different dishes available. The food was always fresh. A special mention has to go to the kitchen staff. They worked incredibly hard, were always so kind and friendly, and consistently produced fantastic food. This is no easy task when catering for so many people at an all-inclusive hotel. Some of the meals were of such a high quality that you would struggle to find them even on à la carte menus elsewhere! We cook a lot at home, and we also visit a wide variety of restaurants, so we know a good meal when we taste one. I would highly recommend the daal and Bengali beef and potato curry — they were delicious! We were also given a room in the adults-only area of the hotel, which was a lovely surprise. This area had its own small pool, which was fantastic for cooling off and offered a quieter place to relax. The entertainers were also great. We particularly enjoyed the yoga, Pilates, archery and darts. The hotel also has paddleboards. My only feedback would be to have more available and to make sure they are properly inflated. I did mention this during our stay, and hopefully it can be addressed. I was initially nervous about going to an all-inclusive, as I have often found that the food can lack freshness and quality. However, this place is definitely an exception. The food was fresh, varied and genuinely enjoyable. The maintenance guy was also very helpful when I needed assistance with a niggly door — thank you for your help! Overall, this is a clean, friendly and welcoming hotel. Well done to every member of staff and the owners for creating such a great experience. Highly recommended!

I couldn’t have asked for anything more, the staff are very friendly, food was delicious and there was so much activities to do for the kids.The rooms are clean and comfortable and are fairly large.The water activities were the highlight of our holiday the inflatable obstacles kept the kids entertained all day long.In the evenings we would go to bar and play cards which was nice, the only thing i would change is the entertainment its more for younger kids and since my children are teenagers I think it would have been nicer with more of a variety.

It was a lovely hotel and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful .😀 The hotel was clean and was always tidy. We had a lovely holiday and all of the staff in the animations team worked hard and were very friendly, polite and always smiled. The food was lovely with lots of choice and especially big John’s tasty chilli!🌶️ All the staff worked so hard and made sure that we had everything we wanted to take care of us (were mindful of my son’s nut allergy.) 🍦ice cream was so yummy ! We would definitely go back! And would be happy to recommend it. Great holiday !😎

We’ve just returned from a wonderful one-week stay at the resort. As a family, this was our first all-inclusive holiday, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Thankfully, the hotel exceeded our expectations. The setting is absolutely stunning, nestled on a beautiful cove with wonderful sea views over crystal-clear water. Swimming in the sea every day was a real highlight, and the kids especially loved the inflatable water park, paddleboards, and sea kayaks. There were plenty of shady spots for relaxing, and table tennis and the pool side games kept us entertained. The food was delicious, with plenty of choice at every meal. The themed evenings added welcome variety, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy. The restaurant staff were particularly attentive, friendly, and efficient, making every meal a pleasure. In fact, all of the staff were welcoming and hardworking—from the reception team and entertainment staff to the restaurant and bar staff, housekeeping, and the grounds team. Everyone genuinely seemed to care about making guests feel welcome and ensuring they had a great stay. Having read some of the other reviews, I can understand that there are areas where the hotel could offer a little more. However, considering the price we paid, we felt it represented good value for money. We had a fantastic holiday and would happily recommend it.
