Hotel Donat

This hotel isn't the best, nor is it the worst. It is very run-down and in need of a makeover. My room was tatty (see pictures), the floor was bowed in the kitchen area, the radiator was hanging off the wall and the bed needs some attention as it is falling apart on one of the legs. The kitchen area has no utensils to cook with so not sure why this is even in the room. Cleaning okay, a dead cockroach to welcome me when I got to the room. The bed was extremely comfortable and I did sleep really well. The food was okay, but nothing special and after one day I decided to eat out. This decision was also down to me being in another country and wanting to try local restaurants. The hotel had a good selection of beverages, alcoholic and soft drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful which was nice. This hotel has the potential to be really good, but I just get the feeling they are happy with the current standards.

I really liked Hotel Donat. Clean and basic just what we needed for our 4 day break. Beds comfortable and clean and some English speaking tv channels. Plenty of plug points. Shower fine. Alcohol was good, self serve beer and wine and soft drinks, no complaints. Food was ok, just your usual cheap all inclusive always something to eat. We did eat out once a day and the beach bar down the road was absolutely fantastic. Cheap and a great standard. Zadar is really beautiful and peaceful, perfect for what we wanted. Water taxi is great as it is a very long walk round the marina, but it is beautiful so worth it atleast once. Enjoyed the Sea organ and the greeting of the sun dance floor. The hotel had the pool lit up on an evening with music just nice and chill and peaceful. Pool was clean and had enough space for us always to find a table. We didnt try the sunbeds ext as we like bieng by the pool. Lovely if you like peaceful evenings and walks. Id 100% recommend a bargain getaway. Airport really easy to get to and from and Ubers reliable and reasonably priced. Prices was around 3-4 euro for a pint or a glass of wine, food was around 8-15 a main course. Coming from England we found it really really reasonable. Weather was fantastic. All in all a great stay at Hotel Donat and Zadar, I would 100% return.

Arrived for a short four night break. We weren’t in the main hotel but another block over the road with one lift! However the room was super clean although very dated. Balcony was tiny and unable to sit out on it. Food quite beige but not too bad. All inclusive bar is 10am-10pm. Draft beer had to be less than 2% sadly. No nighttime entertainment either made evenings lonnnnng! The staff are brilliant! Pool lovely and the location for views was spectacular. Yes I would go back for what we paid… but expect basic!
