hotel Ambasador - Liburnia

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend. For me the location and cleanliness are always the most important elements of my stay. The hotel is impecably clean. It is practically on the beach. The rooms was very comfortable and clean. The air condition worked perfectly. The service is also excellent. Hotel srtaff are very polite and ready to answer all your questions. It is a good value for money. The breakfast is also great. There are many options to choose from. It is not too noisy, but it is not quiet either.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Ambasador in Opatija and can honestly say that it exceeded my expectations. The hotel is beautifully located right by the sea and the Lungomare promenade, with stunning views over Kvarner Bay. The rooms and common areas are elegant, modern and very well maintained, but what really made the difference for me was the level of service. The staff were always professional, friendly and genuinely helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The breakfast and dinner were excellent, with a great variety of fresh and high-quality food. The outdoor seawater pool and beach area are perfect for relaxing, while the spa and wellness facilities are fantastic after a day of exploring Opatija. Everything from the cleanliness and comfort to the atmosphere and attention to detail reflects the standard you would expect from a five-star hotel. Hotel Ambasador was one of the highlights of our visit to Opatija, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and high-quality experience on the Croatian coast.

I personally wouldn’t regard this as a true 5-star hotel. In my view, it is a very good 4-star, perhaps 4.5-star, but a number of small details prevent it from delivering a genuine 5-star experience. For example, the sunbeds are rather cheap and nasty, & not cushioned, and the towel system is frankly rather absurd. You are given a card and expected to return your dirty towels to the spa each day, rather than towels simply being set out and collected around the pool as i expect in a true 5 star. Do,they have that large an issue with £ shop type towels being stolen!The lady in the spa is also very official in her approach to this system,despite my showing i wasnt at all happy, saying  i would just get fresh towels each day and she can take a deposit daily if she felt it nescesaary,I was barked at- not good CS .No turndown service.I was also surprised that when we arrived by car there was nobody there to assist with the luggage until inside hotel. Not a problem but not a 5 star experience. Breakfast  offered a good selection, but the hotel was full and the buffet  felt like something of an unpleasant bun fight. Again, perfectly adequate, but certainly not what I would expect from a 5-star hotel. In the evening no effort is made to make the exterior bar area around the pool inviting with different lighting some planting on wheels maybe, i dont know but not inviting .A missed oppourunity in my view. My original room was a Junior Suite situated in the "Villa"— effectively the hotel's annexe. I accept that choosing that particular room category was my mistake as the photos showed what to expect with the room.interioe but was very dark and not a "resort" room, and at around £400 per night, why anyone would choose to stay in the Villa rather than the main hotel is beyond me. It was not at all what I had expected and a long walk down a corridor and steps. My daughters had a city view room in the annexe and,guess  it was ok for the money, but vv dark.  Thankfully, the wonderful Marina at the concierge desk could not have been more helpful and sorted the room issue out for me at least (not for my daughters) From the second day onwards I moved to a very bright corner room in the main building and was very pleased with it. She was a real credit to the hotel , taking ownership of an issue and addressing it. Lunch in the restaurants was fairly priced for this type of hotel, although I found the quality a little variable from one day to the next. Overall, this is a good hotel in an excellent location and there is plenty to like about it. I would possibly stay again, but I would choose my room very carefully and go expecting a very good 4-star hotel rather than a true 5-star experience.

I will try and be positive first of all. All the staff we found were very nice and friendly. The hotel is large and clean with a nice size pool. Our sea view room with balcony was good however (now the not such good points) there is not enough space to hang 2 peoples clothes for 2 weeks as there is only a single (yes single) wardrobe - this is not good at all. I assumed being a '5 star' hotel there would be a dress code for dinner - there is not. Some of the ladies tried but on the whole men came down in shorts and t-shirts with flip flops and look as if they were going straight out to the pool and some of the younger women came down in just bikini style tops with shorts. The restaurant does have a feel of a canteen which we were quite disappointed with and what didn't help was the food was not hot enough from the buffet so you were always having to eat luke warm food although there was a huge variety to choose from. I also wasn't expecting the hotel to be full of young families with children that were allowed to run around as they wished, babies crying along with dogs outside the restaurant in their own space. In my opinion this hotel would come under a 3 star. Unfortunately I would not re-visit this hotel.

Are first holiday in Croatia and we chose a absolute lovely friendly hotel in such a great location . Hotel reception staff, bar - pool staff, restaurant & cleaning staff 10 out 10 they could not do enough for you they were very helpful. Swimming pool was fantastic lots of sunbeds for all to use . Hotel had its own private jetty with sunbeds and access to the sea. We had a Seaview room which was massive as well as the balcony.
