We stayed at the hotel as a family and overall our experience was mixed. The hotel has some very good points, especially for families with children, but there are also several areas that require serious improvement. Room and view After paying an additional 210 USD, we were moved to a new, larger room with bunk beds. The room itself was definitely an improvement in terms of size and condition. Unfortunately, the “garden view” was extremely disappointing. The hotel considers a view of a fence to be a garden view, so according to them there was no issue. I have attached a photo from the room so guests can judge themselves. Departure and lunch box issue We ordered lunch boxes according to hotel procedures before 9 PM the day before departure. Unfortunately, they were not prepared. We were repeatedly told that someone would bring them “in a few minutes”, which prevented us from going to the restaurant and preparing food ourselves. In the end, we left for our journey home without receiving them. Beach The beach is more gravel than sand and quite compact. Our child did not really enjoy playing there. The tide started going out around midday and the water moved approximately 200 meters away from the shore. Fortunately, there is a pier, so entering deeper water was still possible. Room cleaning Regardless of whether we left one or two dollars as a tip, cleaning was very basic. Towels were changed and the bed was made, but nothing else was really done. There was still sand on the floor and the room was not properly cleaned. Food and restaurants The food is typical for large all-inclusive resorts. Meals are prepared for mass catering. Something presented as a special dish one day could appear as a stew the next day. There is a reasonable choice, but the main restaurant is crowded. With around 80 tables inside and a similar number outside (where temperatures exceed 40°C), meal times can be very noisy and finding a table can become a challenge. The à la carte restaurant is not significantly different from the main restaurant. The main advantage is that instead of waiting in line, food is brought to your table and presented as Italian or another themed cuisine. The second restaurant near the Aqua Park, open 24/7, is actually a good option for breakfast. The food is similar to the main restaurant, but without the crowds. Drinks Drinks are typical for an all-inclusive hotel: simple and low in alcohol, but everyone should be able to find something suitable. The biggest problem was the lack of proper glasses. Many were old, scratched, chipped or cracked. Sometimes drinks were served in glasses that could not be taken to the pool area, forcing guests to finish them at the bar. Pools and Aqua Park This is one of the strongest points of the hotel. Both the older and newer pool areas are nice, and the Aqua Park is excellent. Children had a lot of fun. Despite the hotel having more than 350 rooms, it was usually possible to find a free sunbed, both at 9 AM and later in the afternoon. Entertainment For children there is a mini disco, but we missed more activities such as foam parties, face painting or colour powder events. Adult shows usually started around 10 PM. The performances themselves were very good. The animation team seems to have changed recently, so our experience with them was limited. The only activities we noticed were mainly lottery ticket sales and occasional pool activities like Zumba. There is only one ice cream station for the whole complex. The machine overheated quickly, so ice cream was available only for a few hours during the day. Internet Free WiFi is available, but the quality is extremely poor. The connection drops after a few minutes and during busy times it is almost impossible to connect, whether in the lobby, rooms or pool areas. The beach has practically no coverage. It is perfect only if someone wants a complete digital detox. Hotel condition The hotel is old and clearly needs a major renovation. The staff tries to maintain cleanliness, but many areas are simply worn out and outdated. Service and communication The staff were friendly and communication in English was not a problem. We had no major complaints about the service itself. There are many sellers offering trips, massages and boat excursions, but they were not overly aggressive. They are simply doing their job. Health issue Unfortunately, we experienced “Pharaoh’s Revenge” despite taking probiotics. This made us question whether all dishes and glasses were always cleaned properly. Fortunately, there is a pharmacy nearby and a full set of medication cost around 20 USD, so treatment was easy to arrange. Final conclusion The hotel has great potential, especially for families because of the pools and Aqua Park. However, the old infrastructure, weak WiFi, average food quality, poor room cleaning standards and some service issues reduce the overall experience. With renovation and better management of small details, this could become a much better resort.
