My husband and I just spent a week at the legendary Golden Beach Resort in Hurghada, and honestly? We survived, we tanned, and we have enough funny memories to last a lifetime. If you are looking for a vacation where you alternate between absolute paradise and minor comedic episodes, pack your bags! 🧳 The Arrival & The Room. We rolled into the lobby looking like exhausted travelers who deeply underestimated how hot the Red Sea sun is. Checking in was reasonably fast, though our keycard seemed to have a personal vendetta against our door—it took us three tries every single time. The room itself? Spacious, clean enough, and had a balcony overlooking the gardens. Sure, the furniture looked like it had survived a few historical eras, and the bathroom plumbing made sounds suspiciously like a dying whale, but hey! We didn't come to Hurghada to stare at the walls. The bed was massive, which was great because my husband and I spent 30% of the trip fighting over who hogged the blanket (spoiler: it was always him). 🌊 Beach & Pools. The beach is genuinely gorgeous. Soft sand, warm water, and plenty of loungers—if you are willing to wake up at the crack of dawn to play the international game of "Towel on the Sunbed." My husband tried to look cool and macho by walking straight into the water without water shoes, only to step on a shell that apparently had a personal grudge against his sole. Cue dramatic hopping on one foot while I laughed so hard I dropped my sunglasses. The pools are huge and lively, though the pool bar is basically a magnetic field for overly enthusiastic guys named Mohammed trying to sell you quad-bike desert tours every five minutes. Just smile, say "la, shukran" (no thank you), and order another mango juice. 🍽️ Food & Drinks. Let’s talk about the culinary experience. The main restaurant offers a massive buffet where options range from "surprisingly delicious" to "what on earth is this mysterious grey meat?" Breakfast: The omelet station is the battlefield where friendships are made and lost. My husband stood in line for ten minutes, politely smiled at the chef, and walked away with an omelet that had onions, peppers, and enough chili to power a rocket ship. Lunch & Dinner: There is always chicken, rice, and pasta, so nobody will starve. Just pace yourself. By day three, my husband proudly declared himself an expert in identifying which salads were safe. The Drinks: Ah, the all-inclusive local alcohol. It’s an adventure. The wine tastes like liquid courage mixed with regret, and the beer is served in plastic cups the size of thimbles. Pro tip: Always tip the bartender one single dollar on day one. Suddenly, your tiny plastic cups magically transform into large glasses filled with twice as much alcohol. Magic! 🌴 Entertainment & Vibe. The animation team works harder than anyone I’ve ever seen. They try to get everyone to do aqua aerobics, belly dancing, and beach volleyball. My husband flat-out refused to dance, claiming his "knees were acting up," but the moment the evening show started, he was the loudest person clapping in the audience (mostly because he won a cheap plastic medal in some ridiculous trivia contest). Huge shoutout to Sheriff Egypt for making our excursions in Hurghada unforgettable! It is easy to find online by its name. Their prices are noticeably lower than what the hotel guides try to charge for the exact same trips. We highly recommend booking their Cairo trip in a small group (up to 8 people) with an individual guide—it makes the experience so much more personal and comfortable. Don't miss their sea trip to Giftun Island (Hula Hula) either; the yacht was brand new, and all the guides spoke fantastic English. Highly professional and totally worth it! ✅ The Verdict . Would we return to Golden Beach Resort? You know what? Yes, absolutely. It’s not a five-star ultra-luxury palace, but it doesn't pretend to be one either. It’s fun, vibrant, incredibly affordable, and gave us endless things to laugh about. If you go with a sense of humor, low expectations for the plumbing, and a high tolerance for buffet chaos, you will have a fantastic time. Just remember to bring extra sunscreen, a couple of dollars for tips, and water shoes. Greetings from Hurghada!

Good day, we have visited your hotel for the 3rd time and we are more than satisfied with everything and we would love to come back. This year our relaxing break at the pool was spoiled by an arrogant employee (head of the swimming pool) who did not greet us and behaved inappropriately towards his subordinates in front of the clients. The cleaner from room 324 is very nice and always cleaned up nicely for us and replenished everything. Big thanks also go to the guys at the bar in the Relax zone, especially Belal and Kiro.

We brought a group of 14 to Egypt. Some of these wanted diving through the "5-star PADI" Dive shop on premises. The dive operation was only 3 stars, the resort 5 stars. Regarding the resort? Fantastic! Food choices were phenomenal. Coffee and tea in the room. Pools were over the top. Grounds well-maintained. A LOT of families with kids. Concierge steered us to a taxi that kind of overcharged us. We found we needed to taxi into town for various things (location was far North of Hurghadas Marina) so we needed to taxi a lot. Miniature golf was free. Parasail kite surfing was fun to watch. Front desk could answer most questions but could supply no information about their [on property] dive operation. Might be unfair but diving was why we chose this resort. Plus its a looonng walk to the boats.

I’d like to share my experience at this hotel. First, the way Egyptians are treated is terrible. Second, there are no activities from the animation team—I don’t know what their purpose is—and there’s no DJ either. Third, the mosquitoes in the reception area and the rooms are a huge problem. Fourth, while I was eating in the restaurant, I found a gecko scurrying beneath me—something that is absolutely unacceptable. Fifth, there is no variety in the food; it’s the exact same thing every day. At one point, the coleslaw was spoiled and sour. Sixth, regarding the bar: even though I’m entitled to hard liquor, every time I go to get a drink, the bartender acts as if he’s annoyed and makes me feel like he disapproves of what I’m ordering.

This was our second stay at the hotel for my family and first time for me , and overall it remains a good property that offers reasonable value for money. The gardens and landscaping are beautiful and well maintained, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. I would like to extend special thanks to Mr. Karam Gamil at the Beach Bar for his outstanding hospitality, professionalism, and excellent attitude. Also, thanks to Mohamed Gamal at the main restaurant for his kindness and great service. However, as a hotel manager myself, I would like to highlight a few points that need attention: 1. The mosquito problem is extremely serious, especially during the evening and night. The number of mosquitoes was excessive and affected both adults and children. This issue requires immediate action. 2. Unfortunately, most members of our group suffered from stomach pain and diarrhea during the stay, which raises concerns regarding hygiene and food safety standards. 3. Our first impression was negatively affected by an unpleasant interaction during check-in with the receptionist, Fatma. Even when misunderstandings occur, front desk staff should remain calm, professional, and welcoming, as they represent the hotel’s first impression. Additional customer service training would be beneficial. 4. Housekeeping serviced our room only once during the entire stay. If guests are inside the room when housekeeping arrives, there should be a follow-up attempt later or communication through reception to confirm whether service is required. 5. The flooring in the main restaurant is in poor condition and negatively impacts the overall appearance of the dining area. Despite these issues, the hotel still has many positive aspects, and with improvements in these areas, the guest experience could be significantly enhanced.
