Aquila Elounda Village

Aegeo spa in Elounda Village Crete. Just what we needed whilst relaxing on holiday. My partner had a tailored massage as she is pregnant and a hydro facial. I had the Cretan massage with face yoga. Nina and George, who gave us our treatment were exceptional. Thank you for helping us relax.

The spa was a wonderful experience. The staff was kind, the sauna was amazing, the products and massage were exceptional. I highly recommend Nina and Jorge!

This place is magical. Our second year running at this place, but we met so many people this year who have been going for over 10 years and still love it. That should be everything you need to know. We choose to go all inclusive and like last year this was amazing and so worthwhile, from fabulous cocktails in the Lobby Bar and Beach Bar to free ice cream to wonderful food. I am sorry but if you can't find something great to eat in this place I wonder why, seriously. The fresh salads, the meat, the cheese, the bread and wow the desserts!!!. The Food & Beverage team are amazing. The Mirabello and Symposium restaurants (Petros - The star waiter) are great and whilst you do have to pay for the Chefs Grill the steak and service from our friend Michael was the best and totally worth it. Shout out to the best lady in the Lobby - Eleni- she is such a credit. Maria the Customer Services Manager makes you feel so special, a lovely lady. The cleaners who ensure every part of the Hotel is spotless - they work so hard in the heat. What's so special about this team is that they remember you, those who have been there before are hugged and made to feel like we are family, but also those coming for the first time are treated like good friends who the team hope will return. Now we stay in a Mythica room and it allows us to sample all restaurants all the time, but AI is still a great choice as you get everything you could want. We were lucky to be upgraded again so I can't thankyou all enough. Lastly let me say the Management team, from the General Manager (Michalis) to the Food & Beverage Manager (Hari) and the Head Chef are everywhere, checking all is going as it should. Like last year we would see Hari in every restaurant and bar at least once or twice a day. He would take his jacket off and help out with whatever needed doing. He was interested in everyone - a really nice guy. Michalis is the same and a great dancer as well!!. So we loved our stay and are already thinking we will be back next year and planning a 20th Wedding Anniversary holiday so we hope to see all our friends again. Until then have a great summer.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel and had a very pleasant stay. Will we return again? Probably not. Not because there was anything wrong with it, but for us there wasn’t enough to pull us back again. We were upgraded when we arrived, which I was nervous about, as I always book the room I want (!) but in this instance it was a positive, as it was very windy while we were there, and our upgraded room was better positioned, so thank you for that. Positives - - ALL the staff are lovely. -Junior Suite was lovely, very clean and super comfy bed. It had everything we required ( apart from a good shower, but it worked) Beautifully serviced daily. - Hotel grounds are very clean & tidy. -Amazing shop on site, sells everything and is reasonably priced. - House wines were acceptable, and the Cava at breakfast was superb quality. - Food at the two Al a Carte restaurants was very good indeed ( if you can get a table!) Negatives- - The app. Not our thing, rarely worked properly. We like to leave our phones in the room for dinner as we actually like talking to one another ( old fashioned I know!) but the staff were happy to provide a menu. - A very complicated board method. We went half board in a Mythica room. By chance that seemed the best way to go. ( See below) - There is a large derelict building on the next door plot. It’s an absolute eyesore ( not the hotels fault, granted) but make sure your room isn’t facing it! - The pools you see in photos are mainly for display purposes only! There is no pool big enough to swim laps, and sometimes the sea was less than desirable, due to sea rubbish. - If you book the hotel direct, double check your transfer times. Overall, we had a really nice stay, but I think this hotel could really go to the next level with some tweeks. Any problems we experienced were not due to poor staff, just poor systems and procedures. This is easily remedied. FYI the board basis………….. when we read on here before booking about it being complicated, we thought we knew what they meant. We’ve been to hotels before where certain drinks aren’t included, blah, blah. It is WAY beyond that! For example, if you are staying in a garden room, but you have paid for an All Inclusive package, you would not be able to eat in the Al a Carte restaurants, without incurring a €60 fee. BUT we booked a Mythica Suite, on Half Board, and we could eat in there for free? Some guests told us they had waited 45 mins to get drinks in the bar at night, and the service around the pools is sketchy at best. Overall, we were very happy with our stay at this hotel, we just wouldn’t go back. I think it represented excellent value for money, the staff were super, and the views are great.

Her kindness and the joy she selflessly gifts to everyone stay with us like a warm ray of sunshine throughout the entire year. * Mustafa in the main restaurant - a wonderful representative of the new generation. His care is so delicate and profound that within a minute, you forget you are in a hotel. He truly makes you feel: "You are not just travelers. You are home. You are our most cherished guests." Thank you, blessed, sunny Greece! Your majestic nature is breathtaking, but your people are your truest treasure.
