Astir Beach

I had the pleasure of staying at the Astir beach hotel in Kato Gouves Crete in May 2026. I found this to be a very comfortable place to stay. The bedroom was comfortable with plenty of storage and there were a few extras of things that you might need. The manager Michael and all the staff were very friendly and helpful and made my stay very enjoyable. The food in the restaurant was fresh and of good quality with many local products being used. The pool area was well laid out and the whole place was well cared for and clean. I felt there was an nice, peaceful ambience here. If I return to Crete in the future I would have no hesitation in using the hotel again.

I have just had the most wonderful stay with walking friends at Astir Beach Kato Gouves. From the moment we stepped in to the hotel we were met with warm hospitality. The hotel manager was exceptionally pleasant and helpful and the staff were friendly and chatty. The hotel facilities were great. Rooms lovely and comfortable. Pools and seating areas really relaxing and clean. Dining room bright and welcoming both inside and outside seating. All the food was fresh well presented, tasty and lots of choices. Overall I had a fabulous stay made extra special by the hotel manager who goes the extra mile to make sure all the hotel guests receive the best experience. It is in my opion a five star plus place to stay. I highly recommend it.

We spent a few days here at the end of April and appreciated being given a room with a view over the pool area and the beach. It was a delight to sit on our balcony and watch the sun go down over the sea. Wakening to the soothing sound of waves lapping on the shore added to the holiday feeling. Our room was large, comfortable and very clean. The wardrobe provided plenty of space (having enough coat hangers is a definite plus), The recently renovated bathroom was large and provided plenty of room for all our toiletries. Towels were changed regularly. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were of a high standard and offered lots of variety. The restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive. During our stay we observed and experienced first hand that the manager of this hotel goes out of his way to make his guests feel very welcome. All in all a very pleasant experience!

Lovely hotel staff very friendly and helpful, Sofia the barmaid was excellent with her help and service a lovely person,had a great time,but foo not to great.Would stay again

Beachfront property with 3 pools , restaurant with full all you can ask for, breakfast and comfortable rooms. Although we were here October swimmers were enjoying the facilities.
