CHC Marilena

Terrible experience so far. Currently staying here, we arrived and got sent to another hotel due to ‘rooms being out of order’ they sent us to a lovely hotel but that is besides the point after travelling all day and turning up at 1am - you want your room ready. We were told because of this we would have better rooms, turned up the following day well the rooms are very disappointing. Checked with the lady at reception and was told that the rooms we were in were the ones we booked. Which meant no better room was given - she said come back the next day and she will sort this out for us. I went back but as it was 2pm instead of 12 ( i shouldn’t have to be there at 12 just to get the room? I am on holiday!) she said that the rooms is not available… after a lot of fuss on reception I told them to forget it and walked away. Food is ok, there is not enough staff so food is running out quickly and not loading up with fresh food. Massive queue for drinks as 1 staff is there to serve everyone. No staff around the pool area apart from the life guard. Not enough sunbeds at all, there is nowhere near enough around the pool yet so much room to add more? The sunbeds on the grass area are mostly broken. Bathroom is dirty, loudly ceilings are the is dirt and filth everywhere… how this was ever rated a 4 is beyond me. More like a 2!!

Hotel Marilena was an amazing place to go and relax. The pool was very nice and the aqua aerobics was very enjoyable. Adonis the lifeguard was super funny and polite. The pool bartender Eleni was very friendly and polite. Atalanti from the pool snack bar was making the best pancakes in the world. The food was very tasty and enjoyable to eat . They had a variety of tasty foods and drinks . Overall I really enjoyed my stay at hotel Marilena .Thank you !!!

My husband and me we spent a week at Marilena Hotel, and we returned home truly satisfied. Before our trip I had read many reviews, and after experiencing the hotel myself I have to admit that I simply do not understand some of the negative comments. What surprised me the most were the reviews about the food. Every day there was a genuinely wide selection of dishes, including tratitional Greek specialties as well as more familiar international options. Everything was fresh, continuously replenished, and simply delicious. Of course everyone has different tastes, but saying that the food is of poor quality is, in my opinion very unfair. I will say exactly the same about the drinks at the bars. Anyone who understands how an all-inclusive package works also knows what to expect. For me everything was perfectly fine, and throughout our stay we had absolutely no reason to complain. I also really appreciated the hotels approach to the sun loungers. We always managed to find available ones because the staff ensured that no one reserved them for hours by leaving only a towel or personal belongings. It made the experience fair for everyone. One of the highlights of our holiday was the evening dance show. The performers wer fantastic, and the whole show was interactive, lively, and full of positive energy. We had an amazing time, and it was one of the most enjoyable evenings of our vacation. Finally, I would like to thank the entire staff. Everyone was kind smiling, and genuinely helpful. You could truly feel that they cared about their guests. If we ever plan another holiday in Crete, Marilena Hotel will certainly be one of the very first places we choose.
