Kalimera Kriti Hotel & Village Resort

First impressions of this hotel are positive, we walked straight into reception and after 5 minutes were on our way to our room. We were driven on an electric cart and our luggage was taken to our door. We quickly realized that our room was only 2 STARS. We opened the door with an old type Yale key, it was stiff but we were in. It looked like we were stepping onto the past about 30 years ago. The old furniture was not enough for all of our belonging so we has to use the chairs to keep some stuff on. There were only 3 single sockets and one of these was in the bathroom, not enough for the modern traveler with phones, power banks, electric toothbrushes, kettle and hair straighteners and curlers, we were constantly swapping sockets to keep things charged. There were NO USB sockets. The shower was a hand shower on a riser rail in the bath with a mat to stop slipping in the bath. (I have stayed in 3 star hotels with walk in showers). There was no extraction in the bathroom and this meant everything stayed wet including the tiled floor which was slippery. It was obviously relying on the air conditioning in the main room, but this didn’t work properly. Clearly it needed updating. At night time we could see outside as our front door had a 1 cm gap at the side. Our balcony had only 1 table and chair, so we asked for a second chair, but then realized we couldn’t sit down because there was nowhere for our knees,it was too small, really annoying as we paid for a sea view but couldn’t admire it. The food and restaurants were excellent, with a choice of eating inside or out, definitely 5 Star rating The dance hall looked really nice in the photos on the internet, but in reality, it looks like they have a water leak which has lifted the floor in places, which was annoying and also there were some dips in the floor, clearly it needs a new floor The outdoor pools were too cold, but the indoor was heated but just needed a good clean up . There were no lifeguards on duty! Outside, there lots of steps to and from the rooms and bars, which were ok but at night the light was poor and there we NO handrails, which was slippery and dangerous when it had been raining (especially in the dark) There was a room with a large TV and lots of tables, where we could play games. One day when it was raining, it was locked and we had to go to reception to ask them to open it We asked for a double bed, but got 2 singles pushed together. It was cold during our stay so we asked for blankets, twice, but never saw them. We had to fight to get a topper, which helped but they didn’t supply double sheets and blankets. The activities listed include billiards table… we didn’t see one. Also crazy golf was poor as constructed on top of uneven ground. We had 2 cockroaches in the bathroom on day one, so I reported it to reception that we needed the maintenance man to fill the hole in the wall with a caulking gun. They left us an aerosol spray instead (for flies) The TV was dated and didn’t have a lot of channels, mainly German with only 1 English news channel Drinks were very expensive This hotel caters for tennis players and there were lots of these when we stayed. They also has the Hyrox fitness Group, which played its music at a very high volume, not what you want when you are laying on a sunbed. Overall, it was very disappointing and when we checked out we had to pay 15 Euros per night tourist tax, because it was a “5 Star Hotel” even though our room was 2 STAR Unbelievable!

Violates quiet hours which are mandated by local authorities. It’s a shame because it’s beautiful but loud and disrespectful of others.

I had 2 massages at Aegeo spas. Kallia gives very good massages in a beautiful atmosphere.

The hotel is great! The food is good, everything is very clean, and the staff are friendly. The spa area is also highly recommended. I had a back and neck massage with Chrysa and it was fantastic. She knew exactly what she was doing and it was very pleasant.

Excellent service and care with a delighfully relaxing experience. Breakfast and the evening meal buffet options were the perfect bookends to each day.
