We visited for a week in July as a British family of 4 (two boys age 15). Mixture of fitness/sport and relaxation with lots of eating!! Full board basis. Great fitness facilities incl padel, tennis, pickleball. Good gym, beautiful beach and pools, all staff lovely (especially gym staff and great yoga teacher - Cathy). Good, fresh food which could get a little repetitive but that’s normal with buffets I think - a particularly amazing breakfast. Could eat very healthily with no issues. Probably could do with more sunbeds around the main pool. Stunning sunsets! We went into the local town Sissi for dinner one night to Oliver’s - good steaks and pleasant staff and to the mini golf which was lots of fun. The resort felt safe and our boys were happy but there wasn’t much nearby - you would need a taxi if you wanted to have more of a ‘party’. Lots of entertainment - the animation team worked hard! Mainly German families. Def upgrade your room - we were in H220 and the location was perfect. Thanks for an amazing trip - would highly recommend and will return!

As a family of four with two teenage boys (aged 16), we really enjoyed this holiday. Our rooms were located close to the pools, main restaurant and one of the beaches, as well as the gym, football, pickleball and padel. The rooms were well decorated and had good storage, lovely shower. We had a few issues with our fridge (wasn’t cold) and our air con didn’t work a couple of times, but apart from that the rooms were great, The main restaurant was lovely and most people eat outside on the terrace (not all tables have shade though, so we ate later once sun had gone down around 8:30). There were loads of food options including fresh fish, grilled meats and salads. Lots of Greek traditional dishes. Can only get beer/wine/soft drinks at the restaurant, would’ve been nice to have a gin and tonic. The water system is a bit frustrating as you can’t fill water bottles and can only buy water from the mini mart on site (which is closed Wednesdays) or from bar (at extra cost). There were loads of things for the boys to do - water polo, beach volleyball, football, padel and pickle. The swimming pools never felt crowded and the two beaches were great for swimmming (the sea is very warm and completely clear - you can easily snorkel there). Loungers free for hotel guests. Hotel transfer was simple from Heraklion (40 mins) Worth mentioning although we booked direct with the hotel, you had to pay to use the gym which we thought was unfair as this is not advertised as an extra cost on the website. Either four of us using the gym this felt extortionate. Was a lovely spot. We walked to Sissi a few times (20 minutes up and down) - there are some nice tavernas and shops and pretty harbour but more commercialised than I had expected. A very relaxing holiday and perfect for teens.

We stayed at Kalimera Kriti Village Resort with our family and children, and overall we had positive experience. The hotel grounds are beautiful, very well maintained, clean, and full of greenery. There are many spots around the property with stunning sea views, making it a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The beach is another highlight, with soft sand and crystal-clear water. The food deserves special praise—it was consistently delicious, with a great variety of dishes every day. The staff were also excellent throughout our stay: friendly, responsive, and always willing to help. One thing worth mentioning is that the hotel offers two types of rooms. The renovated rooms are modern and comfortable, while the non-renovated rooms are very basic. If you don't plan to spend much time in your room and you've found a good deal, the older rooms may be perfectly acceptable. Otherwise, I would recommend paying extra for a renovated room. That said, even the renovated rooms are missing a few simple but useful amenities. For example, there are no shelves in the shower for shampoo or soap, and there is no proper clothesline or drying rack on the balcony for wet swimwear and towels. Another tip: if your room is on the first floor and is not in the front row facing the sea, I wouldn't recommend paying extra for a sea-view room, as the view is likely to be blocked and you won't really see the sea. The only significant downside for us was the location. The hotel is quite isolated and far from the nearest village, so you can't simply take an evening walk to explore local restaurants or cafés. You'll need to take a taxi if you want to go anywhere outside the resort. If you're planning to spend your entire holiday relaxing within the hotel, this won't be an issue, but it's something to keep in mind. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The beautiful grounds, excellent beach, delicious food, and outstanding staff made for a wonderful family holiday. With a few improvements to the room amenities, this hotel could be even better.
