SANI CLUB

We stayed at Sani Club last May with our baby, while our friends stayed at Porto Sani. We chose Sani Club because we prefer peace and quiet and loved the layout, being slightly removed from the centre really appealed to us. Our friends preferred to be in the middle of everything, so they chose Porto Sani. We understood that guests could visit the different hotels within the resort and use the facilities, so we were happy with our decision. I’ve taken a long time to write this review because overall the resort is beautiful and many of the staff are genuinely wonderful. However, our experience at Sani Club left us feeling disappointed — especially given the price point and the expectations that come with a luxury, family-friendly resort. We paid extra for a room with a private garden (at the time it was more expensive than some of the lower suite categories), specifically so our baby would have a safe outdoor space to crawl and play. When we arrived, the room itself looked nice, but the “private” garden was anything but private. It opened directly onto a road used constantly by golf carts and guests walking past to access buggies. The sun loungers were dirty, there were cigarette butts scattered across the grass, and the lawn itself was patchy, rocky, and not suitable for a crawling baby. It was really disappointing. One of the main reasons we chose the hotel was because of the extensive list of baby equipment advertised before arrival: bouncers, monitors, mosquito nets, changing mats, bottle equipment, etc. I had emailed in advance with a list of items that would make our stay easier. On arrival, we were told that if something wasn’t in the room, it was because they didn’t have it. Unfortunately, none of the requested baby items were there. There was a cot, but it was a grubby old travel cot with a bent mattress and holes in the sides. Not what you’d expect from a five-star family resort. There was no mosquito net, no changing mat, nothing. We also had two single beds pushed together, which made sleeping arrangements with a baby difficult. When we called reception, we asked for the garden to be cleaned properly and for the cot to be replaced. We were told there were no other cots available. The garden was eventually tidied, but the initial condition really shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Our mattress was also swapped for a double to help. We also had a few other issues: the bath water wasn’t warm enough to bathe our baby one evening, and maintenance couldn’t resolve it. Again, not the end of the world — but these small things add up. What upset me most was when maintenance entered our room and walked straight across our baby’s play mat with dirty shoes, leaving large footprints all over it. By that point, after several issues in just a few days, it felt like too much. To their credit, management did apologise and sent wine and fruit, they cleaned the mat and invited us for a meal — but it didn’t fully remove the sour taste. Another big difference we noticed was the concierge service. The concierge at Porto Sani was exceptional, proactive, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile. Unfortunately, that wasn’t our experience at Sani Club. When we tried to book a boat trip and were told there were no spaces, our concierge simply said there was nothing they could do. Our friends at Porto Sani asked their concierge, and not only were they booked on, we were included too. The same happened with restaurant reservations. Their concierge secured bookings; ours said it wasn’t possible. It left us feeling like the “poor cousins”. In terms of food the half board menus were good but tend to feel quite similar across the different restaurants and hotels, and if you’re a real foodie, the offering can feel a bit underwhelming after a few days. We did have some genuinely incredible à la carte meals, truly excellent but they are expensive with mains tending to be around £50-70. We chose to hire a car from the airport rather than take the free transfers, which gave us the freedom to explore some of the local towns nearby. That ended up being one of the highlights of the trip, as we found some fantastic local restaurants with amazing food and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend doing this. But if you’re staying on half board and expecting a wide variety of high-end dining included, it’s worth being aware that you may find yourself opting (and paying) for à la carte more often than planned. We were also initially told we couldn’t visit Porto Sani pools due to our room category, while our friends had no issue visiting us. Thankfully, their concierge helped resolve this, but again, it highlighted the difference in service. Had I known we would have either booked a different room or stayed in Porto Sani. I’m genuinely sad to write this because the wider resort is stunning and many of the staff are fantastic. However, for us, the experience at Sani Club didn’t match the promise. Particularly as parents with a baby, which was one of the main reasons we chose it. We loved the peaceful setting and the layout of Sani Club, but ultimately we left feeling we had picked the wrong hotel within the resort. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, because with better attention to detail and more consistent service, it could have been the wonderful family holiday we were hoping for.

We booked the two-bedroom villa with a private pool, and it exceeded our expectations. The villa was spacious and beautifully designed, with a huge pool overlooking the sea — truly breathtaking. Having direct and very close access to the beach made the stay even more special, especially for a family. We loved the decor and landscaping, which were elegant, well thought out, and created a very relaxing atmosphere throughout the villa and surrounding areas. Booking dinner and arranging plans was effortless thanks to the excellent concierge team, who were always helpful, responsive, and professional. A special thank you as well to the Front Desk Manager for the warm welcome and smooth experience from start to finish. Overall, this is a wonderful place for a family break — peaceful, well-organized, relaxed luxury. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. And recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Sani Club. The service is truly outstanding! Nikos and his team provide exceptional service and really go above and beyond. We will definitely be coming back.

We had a very good stay at Sani Club and there is no doubt it is a beautiful, elegant and high-quality hotel. The service was excellent, the surroundings are stunning and the beach entry is lovely. It definitely feels a bit more refined and upscale compared to other parts of the resort. That said, travelling with three small children, I personally found Sani Club less practical than Sani Beach, where we stayed last year. While Sani Club is more elegant in style, its location makes family logistics more complicated. For dinner, going to the marina or the little village requires taking a shuttle, which is not always easy in the evenings with tired children. At Sani Beach, everything is within walking distance, including the port, restaurants and activities, which made evenings much smoother for us as a family. Another important difference for us was dining. At Sani Club, dining is mainly à la carte. Even with half board or all inclusive under the dine-around system, you receive a fixed amount per person and often need to pay the difference, which adds up quickly for families. At Sani Beach, the buffet restaurants are a big advantage with small kids – simple, flexible and stress-free. For children, Sani Beach felt much more convenient overall. The kids club, adventure park, climbing park, bike and stroller rental are all right there, and the flat layout makes it easy to move around during the day. This was a big plus for us when our main focus was the children. That being said, Sani Club is a wonderful hotel and I would absolutely return – but I think it is better suited to couples or families with older children. It also has some fantastic restaurants on site, which are popular with guests from all over the Sani Resort, and the beach itself is excellent. Next time, in 2026, we plan to try Sani Dunes, as we would love to experience all parts of the resort. Overall, Sani Club is very, very nice – just not the most practical choice for families with very young children, in our experience.

Great stay at Sani. It is quite a resort with lors to do and experience. Our concierge Alexandra was the best, very diligent and thoughtful. We really enjoyed it.
