Akti Palace

Peaceful retreat direct access to a private space on an unspoiled beautiful stretch of shingle beach with crystal clear water (hence a rocky entrance ) best for snorkelling!! comfortable lounges and umbrellas included for your stay. We booked a shared pool room and had the most amazing neighbours (Kim & John ) ♥️ kardamena is a walkable stroll or use the free hotel shuttle, Kos town short local bus 4€each way pp , but I have to admit didn’t use any as we couldn’t bear to leave our hotel 🤣 From the moment you arrive you are welcomed by every member of staff the service is exceptional , the setting beautiful the food is the best we’ve ever experienced on an all inclusive or in a Greek family taverna! ! and the beverages are branded , there are 3 Ala carte restaurants to book Greek Seafood and Asian they all serve a 8 course taster menu and are absolutely delicious it’s a food over load ♥️ with amazing hosts ♥️ . The hotel have gone with soft mattresses , and as a firm mattress couple I can honestly say it felt like a waterbed and we slept like a log without any problems. Previous reviews I have read condemning the bathrooms 🤣 and the towels!!!! Bathrooms have a shower over a bath , there isn’t any way to opt for a bath 🤣 and why would you ???? the shower pressure is powerful and always hot , yes a walk in shower is the way to go especially with climate change and Yes the beautiful slate tile floors have blobs of paint on them and that theme continues floor wise throughout your room but each season every room is painted and I assure you that your room is cleaned super hygienic each day my partner wears white socks and there are no signs of colour disfiguration 🤣 but I would prefer the hospitality, standard of food and beverage and service with the staff being paid a living wage rather than spending money on a bathroom that is perfectly acceptable!!!!! This hotel has been classified to low by Tui as a 4*plus the service centred care from every member of staff from the day you arrive to the day you depart is as stated previously Exceptional the natural beauty of the location is stunning and the food is amazing I don’t know how they have managed to cook for so many and keep that authentic Greek taverna taste whilst providing for those who prefer the home from home food (remarkable) haven’t used the spa yet going tomorrow sauna is filled with aromatherapy oils jacuzzi and pool included with your AI hubby having an hour long neck and back massage for €80 . As you can tell this hotel has impressed us immensely and I hope that this management team continues with getting the basics right that make your holiday and the staff’s work balanced. We will be booking for next year ,

As a disabled, full-time wheelchair user this hotel was shocking, totally unacceptable, we should never been alliwed to book. I'd maybe say 3 star but definitely NOT a 5 star hotel. On arrival it felt like a concrete jungle with stairs/steps everywhere. Many areas were not accessible i.e. the bar had a step, reception, via seating area with steps, I had to go via back of restaurant. The 'a le carte' restaurants and information desk were up stairs, advised no left access. We booked a superior room with garden view. Room was nice but in shaded location, we never had sun at all or a view, we looked out onto a public lane and hadge. Bathroom the worst I've ever had, floor looked like a building site floor and unacceptable for anyone with a disability, NOT suitable for wheelchair user. Towels replaced daily, however, they were so old they were gray, hard and disgusting to use. Bathroom flooded every time we showered, because no curtain or screen or effective drainage. We requested a room change but refused because, all rooms were same and manager stated "this is NOT a disabled friendly hotel". Pool bar was nice during day, but cold and windy in evening, and I couldnt get into the bar (steps) and no drinking in reception area. However, the staff were lovely, friendly and in all honesty, I think they felt a bit sorry for my situation at the Akti Palace. I think that's the only hotel positive I can give. In all honesty, if it wasn't for friends hiring a car, this would have been worst holiday, ever.

Just back from our second holiday this year at Akti Palace. It did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we loved every minute. The food, the staff, the entertainment all fabulous. We were upgraded to a shared pool room, very nice. Room was spacious, lovely and clean with the mini bar topped up daily and cleaned/fresh towels daily. Yes the bathrooms need an overhaul, but everything worked! Yes it's not 5 star, but that didn't put us off after our first trip and certainly hasn't put us off after our second. A big shout out to all the staff, they are just simply the best, hard working, great personalities around. Hope to see you all again soon.

My friend and myself visited Akti Palace at the beginning of October. On first impressions the hotel looked great. I enquired about paying for an upgrade to a maisonette room which we were given. It was really nice, a bit tired in the bathroom, the towels were totally unacceptable. They were thin, hard and grey when they should have being white. We used the beach towels to bathe with as they were better quality. The beds were comfy and the rooms were spacious. The items the room were lacking was a full length mirror and an iron which we had to pay a 20 euro deposit for. The grounds were lovely but there was no up keep of the beach, there were broken umbrellas and it was very uneven. It wasn’t the hotels fault but it was very unstable to get into the sea as there were so many rocks and stones, I witnessed quite a few people stumbling while trying to get in and out. We enjoyed our holiday but felt we wouldn’t return to this hotel, maybe it is better in summer but they really need to look at comfortable seating, ambience in all areas and the flavour choices in the buffet restaurant. The pool bar at lunch served a good range of food but some of it could get quite dried out but there were plenty of choices and fresh salad and bread. The pool bar staff Christos and Natalia were so busy but still super efficient and friendly and funny. The al a carte restaurants didn’t have much atmosphere and service was pretty rushed especially in the Asian but the food in there was beautiful and freshly cooked, we could have eaten it every night. The seafood restaurant didn’t have much ambience but a nice view into the open air, the food was absolutely beautiful and just the right amount with lots of flavour. Our waiter George was very professional and spoke very little. The Greek restaurant was very nice, flavourful food but far too much food, we were in a food coma after all the courses. We just couldn’t eat it all, our waiter George( young curly hair with glasses) was so friendly and helpful, he always had a smile on his face also in the buffet restaurant. The buffet restaurant had no atmosphere whatsoever, it was more like a canteen. The chairs were uncomfortable and the waiters were more like robots getting rid of your plates before you took your last mouthful. After you’d ordered one drink they didn’t offer another. The food was better some nights than others, there was something for everyone but the food was pretty dull with no flavours sticking out. The glass bar was like gods waiting room, it was full of people playing cards and uno, Natalia at the bar was wasted in there, she was so friendly and full of fun but again the bar was understaffed. The entertainment was in the pool bar which in October was a pretty poor decision as it was so windy and cold there, no heater or blankets so many people left, the only night we stayed for the entertainment was for the supremes who were brilliant and entertaining

Our 2nd visit where we experienced another fantastic holiday. We were delighted that our pre requested room choice was given and that we were able to keep our room on for a late checkout. The food is good and we once again enjoyed the Asian and Fish restaurants. George who serves in the Fish Restaurant is great and shares interesting local history and weather information! We enjoyed the live music at the Pool Bar, however, unless you get there early you struggle to get a seat. The only negative feedback is the Beer is now being served in different plastic cups during the day resulting in it being flat. It would be nice at the Pool bar to be able to have toasted sandwiches which would then vary from the same meats being served in the evening. Overall enjoyed it so much we have booked again for next year
