Rhodos Horizon Marina

We have just come back from Rhodes horizon marina. What a lovely hotel. Lovely greeting. Staff are so friendly and would help you with any problems. The bedroom was spotless. Yes the bathroom was a bit small and water on the floor. But you ask for floor mats soon done. Food was great hot and fresh so much to have. Love the whole week. We will go back. One of the best hotel we have been to.

Let’s start with negatives. Pool area is very crammed, they tried to get as many sunbeds as possible to try and accommodate. You learn to make friends as they will be close!! Sadly there is still not enough beds and you really need to be down by 8:30 to grab one (tip- go down to -1 and enter from the gym area as they open before main doors), but not always!!). The pool itself is plenty big enough and the right side of cool. We went first week of July and there a group of twenty somethings (at least a dozen). Although lively once they awoke, they were reasonably well behaved. However they could be loud at 3:30am!! For information there is a beach (across a dual carriageway, but easy to cross) about 5 mins walk. The hotel is fairly remote with not much around (the odd shop and restaurant) it’s a 20 min walk into the old town. It’s well worth a visit ( reminds me of Dubrovnik/Split/Kotor). POSITIVES - the staff are amazing, very attentive and friendly. Although all inclusive they will get you drinks at meal times. The AI works well and there were always tables available at mealtimes. the food is varied and tasty. Plenty of salad and meat options. They have a selection of Greek desserts every night. WIFI works well throughout the hotel. The rooms are smaller than Spain with less storage and very small bathroom. That said it was fine for the week and we always had hot water etc. beds comfortable or was it the fresh air / drink that made us sleep? Air con is very refreshing inside and bedrooms were cool for sleep. Bar area is a bit sterile and formal. It has a large tv for football (World Cup was on) and they have live music (sorry can’t review this as we prefer to chill out at night). A pleasant mix of British, Irish, German & Scandinavians and ages ranging from 20 to 70. Overall a solid 4.5 out of 5 and would recommend for a week of R & R.

Great hotel with a good position near a lovely sandy beach and calm sea with slow incline into the sea. Seems like the sea on the east of the island is calm compared with the roughs seas on the west and north of the island. Paid a little extra for a sea view room which was good as the standard rooms looked a lot smaller. Bathroom good with a powerful shower and a reasonable size. Very clean with new towels daily and clean sheets twice a week. Air conditioning good. Good sized balcony with sea view. All inclusive menu was excellent with a wide range of foods from different countries. Always a hamburger and chips option for those who are not so adventuress. The hotel was a 100% occupancy during or stay but never a problem getting a table. Meal times were generously long catering for all needs. Waitresses very very friendly and welcoming. The bar was good but not much atmosphere but made up for by the wide selection of cocktails. Evening entertainment three times a week not so great. In the heat too far to walk to the Old Town of the Port for boat trips but only 10/12 Euros for a taxi. Taxi ranks outside the Old Town and also near Mandraki harbour with a very efficient queuing system organised by a taxi supervisor. Only downside was the pool was too small for the number of guests with loungers packed in like sardines and people queuing from 8.15 in the breakfast area for the pool opening at 8.30. Always difficult to find a lounger after that but the lovely sandy free beach was only 5 minutes walk away and the Chinese supermarket close to the hotel had a beach umbrella and two beach mats for around 20 Euros. Reception staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Arrived around 2am as flight delayed but had a glass of bubbly and a ham and cheese sandwich while we checked in. And a bottle of wine and a bottle of ouzo in the room/

Good location to walk into the old town, around 20- 30 mins easy walk along the coastal path. There a a few bars and restaurants in the area, supermarket and coffee shops. The beach over the road is lovely, with shallow water, however there aren’t any sunbeds but this is not connected to the hotel. The hotel is immaculately clean, with fresh towels and rooms serviced daily. All the staff are lovely, they work very hard and are very accommodating. Good variety of good quality food and drink on offer throughout the day. Choice of cocktails is excellent. Pool… now nobody likes to queue but this is the fairest way to do it, first come first served! There are two doors, one downstairs near the gym and one from the restaurant so take your pick! You get the sun at different times through the day. We certainly didn’t see any children, just young adults enjoying a holiday! Like most adults only hotels the minimum age is 16, they were respectful and polite as were our teenagers. So if you don’t want to holiday with teens you’re best off booking a Saga holiday!!! Overall an excellent holiday, good value for money. We would stay again

Honestly have not been to a hotel before where the staff are so kind and helpful.. Trevor greeted us on arrival with a warm welcome and with genuine enthusiasm and staff members Fani and Sonia were among those who made sure guests were looked after. Hotel is slightly away from the old town but has access to beach with a 5 minute walk.
