The everything your looking for information to this hotel is this. Me (23 yr old) and my girlfriend (21yr old) stayed at Hovima suites for a week and wish we did longer to be honest. All the staff have been great with us we have done the excellence upgrade on the room and it is 100% worth the extra money for the value you get here. We stayed around the adults pools despite the excellence upgrade as we are chatty and like to make friends there is absolutely no rush to get a sunbed on a morning there was always a few left and all in sun or by a umbrella. The sun tends to hit the adults side of the hotel by around 10:30am and then your in the sun all day until about 6:30pm so if your worrried about how tall the buildings look and casting shadows that’s not problem at all. I’ve seen a lot of reviews about the food at this hotel and I can say the buffet has been amazing here the food has been one of the best all inclusive wise I’ve ever had. The excellence also provides a sit down service breakfast with some stuff you can’t get at the buffet like smoked salmon bagels, avocados on toast and crepes with real Nutella sauce. The only thing I can fault is the pool side snack bar the options are, hotdogs, burgers, tuna wrap, mixed vegetables sandwich and nachos. Yup no chips by the pool side. The food sits on the side of the bar in a heater or fridge but if not many people are eating it the buns go hard so we just avoided this and ate in the lunch hall. The eating times at the hotel are, breakfast 7:30am - 10:30pm, lunch 1:00pm-3:00pm and dinner 7:00pm-9:30pm. And there is also an also a À la carte restraunt which is Italian and could not fault the place. This hotel also has a rooftop bar which can overlook the sea and sunset at night which serves much nicer presentations of cocktails and drinks but this bar is not all inclusive for anybody so it’s nice to go up for one when it’s sunset. The excellence package as a whole: What we used was the following a pillow menu, we had 8 pillows for 2 people! A scent menu for a diffuser for your room, not necessary but still a nice touch A mini fridge restock of 330ml cans of your choice up to 9 cans daily! You choice is between Amstel, water, sparkling water, Fanta, Diet Coke, Coke and sprite. The excellence pool, this bit is great was no more than 2 people here at anyone one time and there is a pool that’s only 0.2m deep but if you throw the pillow in the water it floats and it’s actually a fantastic tanning pool to keep u cool and stay in the sun. The staff come around with desserts and picky bits around the excellence pool and offer your various bits but not to worry it’s maximum 3 times a day so it’s not annoying. The self serve bar is nice in the excellence zone which offers all the soft drinks and the staff regularly change ice in a bucket and cool box for wines, water and there’s a Amstel draft tap also. If you want an any spirits of any kind though you need to go to the pool side bar. Excellence also has a added bonus at lunch and dinner time which gives you a private zone in the main buffet at the back where the staff with waiter your drink orders and make sure your topped up on wine, water and soft drinks. Excellence includes additional drinks that standard all inclusive can’t have such as blue lagoons, named spirits such as jack Daniel’s and cosmopolitans. And a larger glass size at the buffet so you don’t have to get up to keep refilling. Standard glass size 200ml, excellence 400ml I’ll leave a link to the menu at the bottom of the review Excellence also includes a free of charge late check out, standard is 12:00pm which in generally pretty good anyway but if you want a room held while 3:00pm it’s €35 or till 6:00pm it’s €70 so getting this for free is a major money saver. Excellence confirmed us a 5th floor room with a pool or sea view and was very private. Couples rooms have walk in showers the family size has the shower bath mix. Entertainment: Pool entertainment is consistent, it has water acrobatics, cocktail making lessons, guess how many pages are in a book just by looking at its thickness, and even yoga, the family pool has the water mat for the kids to run Accross but neither pool allows ball or floats in it this was a weird rule to us in but not sure how enforced these are in the family pool but in the adults section there was no floats or balls in all our stay. Entertainment at night is as good as it gets with singers l, performers and a seperate sports bar for any games that are on, we stayed during the 2026 World Cup final and with Spain winning it was a lovely environment! Pool Adults pool is 1.5m deep all round Family pool goes from shallow to deep but finishes at 1.6m deep at its deepest level. All inclusive stops at midnight can’t fault this. And one person can only order a maximum of 4 drinks per order Location of the hotel is great, close enough to shops, bars, restraunts even Water sports and anything else is a 10minute taxi including Siam park/mall Hotel rooms are clean and cleaned daily couldn’t complain Hotel is not noisy or quiet just right and we went during building works on 14 rooms and this didn’t even disturb the peace. And the most important part is the Jonny appreciation part of this post. Jonny works with the entertainment team and from day one he makes you feel at home, welcomed and comfortable. We had been at the hotel for 2 hours and he came and sat with us and said “new faces?” And did not forget our names after a brief talk. Jonny deserves his promotion in my opinion he works extremely hard and he would love to do more but there’s a rule that entertainment staff need to leave by 11:30pm and it upsets him he wishes he could stay and talk to people all night long he really has made our holiday and as joyful as he is he loves his job and everything with it. Jonny from the entertainment team. He is so friendly, approachable, and always brings such positive vibes to the pool. His pool dances are amazing and really get everyone involved and having fun. He also takes song requests, which makes the experience even better and more personal. Jonny’s energy and enthusiasm have made our holiday so much more enjoyable. He’s a real credit to the entertainment team!
Jonny was amazing. He is very personable and creates good relationships with all of the guests. I would highly recommend his yoga class
Location close to bars, restaurants, shops and the beach. The hotel atmosphere is more geared towards adults than younger children as there is limited entertainment for them especially in the evenings as there is no mini disco. Rooms are well equipped with fridge and air-conditioning. Value for money is average if staying half board, breakfast is adequate with lots to choose from, we swopped to lunch instead of dinner and found it a bit hit and miss, drinks expensive. The entertainment was good on evenings and the hotel entertainment team were friendly and a huge asset to the hotel, a special mention to Johnny as he tries hard to involve all of the guests and makes an effort to speak to everyone. I'd like to mention one of the bar team who identified a male guest who was bothering us one evening, especially my daughter aged 18, they stopped him from buying her drinks and checked in with her the next day to make sure she was OK. Thank you. We hope to return to the Hovima in the near future as we had a great holiday.
Had a really lovely stay at Hovima Suites Costa Adeje overall, with a few standout positives and one disappointing experience. The Excellence Service is absolutely worth paying for, even if you’re only staying half-board. The extra touches really made the holiday feel much more special. A special mention has to go to Jonny, who was fantastic. He always took the time to chat, and made me feel so welcome, shout out to his aqua dance and Hovima challenges too! Staff like him are a real credit to the hotel. I’d also like to give a shoutout to the catering team, especially Juan, who looked after the Excellence breakfast every morning, and Pedro in the restaurant. They were always friendly, attentive and worked incredibly hard to make every meal enjoyable. Their warm service really stood out. The rooms and hotel were spotless. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day, leaving chocolates on the bed and restocking the drinks in the room, which were lovely little touches. The food was also really good, with plenty of choice and consistently high quality. The only real negative was my experience with the reception staff. While there may have been one or two exceptions, the majority came across as quite unwelcoming and unfriendly. Unfortunately, my Kindle was stolen from around the pool during my stay, and when I reported it to reception, they seemed completely uninterested and showed very little empathy or concern. It was disappointing to receive such a dismissive response when something upsetting had happened. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend the hotel, particularly if you go for the Excellence package. With a friendlier reception team and better support when guests have an issue, the experience would have been perfect.
