Nicely located hotel convenient for both St Marks Square and the shuttle boat to/from the airport. A small bar, breakfast room only but some good eateries in the vicinity. The hotel frontage overlooks the Grand Canal as do a couple of small tables on the breakfast room and bar balcony. Breakfast was fine and the staff cheery. All staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Our room (#221) was adjacent to the breakfast prep room so we were awakened every day at 06:30 and pleasantly subjected to the aroma of bacon cooking at 06:50 and the occasional staff voices. Suggest you avoid this room if possible, especially if you like a lie in. Our room was ok, bed comfortable, useful cupboard space but no chair. Bathroom functional, shower good but slow to drain. The hotel, like Venice had an air of faded glory about it.

We arrived home last night after a 3 night stay. It was such a lovely hotel- all the staff were great. Our room was a canal facing room- we requested the Grand canal room and it was lovely- noisy with door/ window open as it’s such a busy canal!

Room was on 3rd floor lots of stairs. Room generally ok, bit dated bedside light fitting was ‘odd’. Bed comfy, plenty of hot water and staff very helpful. As with anywhere in Venice you have to walk, hotel close to Rialto fish market & bridge. We used Veportti buying a 3 day pass it was definitely worth it. We did guided walking tour highly recomend. All in all we loved Venice and had a good stay.

Good location just 5 minutes walk from San Stae vaparetto stop. We unfortunately had a not so friendly welcome when we found that we still had 2 rooms reserved despite my husband calling to cancel one in January (due to an unexpected reason, our daughter and partner could not travel) . The receptionist was very abrupt and rude saying we couldn’t cancel. I think he thought we wanted our money back (we knew this wasn’t an option) but he could definitely have been more professional and polite in his manner. Our room was much smaller than expected and I note that none of the photos on here or the hotel marketing material show the smaller rooms. It was adequate and had everything we needed including a well stocked and reasonable mini bar, good sized bathroom and bath, safe and comfortable bed but very little space in the actual bedroom so bear this in mind when booking. Breakfast is good if basic though I’ve never been anywhere where you cannot use the coffee machine yourself, this means you have to keep asking for a refill which can take time when it’s busy. Lovely to have the opportunity to sit on the balcony though for breakfast if you choose. We didn’t use the bar as it isn’t manned and despite waiting around for 10 minutes, nobody appeared which was disappointing but it does look lovely and cosy and well stocked. Well placed for access to all main attractions and on the grand canal which is lovely though our room was down the side with no view. All in all a good value stay which we’d repeat with an upgrade to a larger room with a view if returning.

We arrived quite late into the airport and had a prebooked shared water taxi, 1st drop off directly at the hotel which was great. Very friendly welcome. Room 323 on 3rd floor was perfect, with a partial view of the canal. Some reviews state rooms are dated.. this is a very old building and they have done a fantastic job mixing original features with modern facilities, eg the bathroom mirror had Bluetooth if you wanted music. Breakfast was very good. Bacon and eggs especially good and the lady made wonderful coffee and was very friendly. Great location to explore. Best advice is to get lost and enjoy what you find. The whole area felt safe and there are lots of interesting sights, shops and bridges to see on every turn. Would highley recommend this hotel to others.
