Ayada Maldives

It was a wonderful experience for our first trip to the Maldives, and the butler Zee service was very thoughtful.

Our honeymoon here was truly an exceptional choice. Our butler, John, was not only delightfully humorous but also provided impeccable and attentive service throughout our stay, making the experience all the more memorable. I would highly recommend John for his outstanding care. Every member of the staff was gracious and professional, and we couldn’t have chosen a more perfect resort in the Maldives.

Starting with the obvious the island is stunning, picture perfect postcard views but beautiful places aren’t that rare in the Maldives. What made this stay stand out was the service and staff. We had meals at Magu and Zero Degrees quite a bit, partly because they were included but also because the staff there just got it. At Magu, there were two sisters (I wish I remembered their names) who were consistently warm without being overbearing and seemed genuinely happy to see us each time and at Zero Degrees Fitri and Ali really looked after us. Travelling with a newborn comes with its own logistics, especially around feeding, and they handled everything with a level of understanding that you don’t often see. We were never made to feel awkward, they just accommodated what we needed. This made a bigger difference than I think they realise. Shaan at Ocean Breeze deserves a mention as well, he had good energy and made us laugh. All these interactions stack up over a few days. Another special shout out to the staff who put together a Maldivian spread for us to try local food. A nice reminder of where you actually are. And most importantly the person who shaped the entire experience was our concierge, Affan. From the moment we arrived he helped to ensure everything went smoothly. He was always around when needed, but never in a way that felt intrusive. It’s a difficult balance and he got it spot on. Affan took care of so many of the small things..organising movements around the island, giving genuinely useful advice on what activities made sense and even just stepping in to entertain the little one for a few minutes so we could eat properly or breathe. At one point he was taking photos for us, then the next minute helping us figure out timings for dinner, then casually checking in later without making it feel like a checklist. It all just felt thoughtful. All of this to say a big part of the holiday being that extra special comes down to the people. Would we go back? Yes! largely because of them.
