Bandos Maldives

We had a wonderful stay at Bandos Resort and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our vacation. The resort itself is beautiful, with an amazing house reef. However, what truly made our stay unforgettable were the people. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. We would especially like to thank the staff at the Gallery Restaurant and the housekeeping team, who always greeted us with a smile and made us feel at home. The team at Huvan was also very warm and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. One of the highlights of our trip was the private dinner we booked. It was an exceptional experience, made even more special by Jainam and the Chef. The food was simply outstanding, without a doubt one of the best meals we have ever had. We also highly recommend Umiyaki. The sushi was the best we had during our stay, and the staff there were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. Overall, Bandos is a beautiful resort, but it is the wonderful people who work there that truly make it a special place. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. We would love to return one day!

A lovely stay overall, but a few points of transparency and consistency need addressing. The restaurant and bar staff are wonderful, as is the lady who welcomed us and explained everything very clearly. Special mention also to the snorkeling/diving equipment rental man, who is very kind and professional.

We had an amazing stay at Bandos Maldives and can highly recommend this resort! A special thank you to Harish, our excellent waiter, Suray, the friendliest pool bar bartender, and Rashed, who was always kind and attentive. We would also like to thank the restaurant supervisor with glasses (sorry, we forgot his name) who greeted us with a smile every day. Greetings from FINN – they will know who we are! 😊 The staff was incredibly friendly and hardworking, the resort is beautiful, and the house reef is truly outstanding. We have snorkeled all over the world, but this reef is one of the very best we have ever experienced. Everything was perfect – service, food, atmosphere, and snorkeling. We hope to return soon! 🌴🐠☀️

The managerial, reception, restaurant and house keeping staff are all wonderful, 5 stars, and will help you all that they can with a genuine warm smile. The island is a 20 minute speed boat ride from Male airport. When, exiting the airport arrivals hall you will need to walk down a colonnade to terminal 2 to catch the boat to the island. If in doubt, ask anyone and you will be guided to the correct location with happy courtesy. We had a deluxe beach room. The room was very large and well equipped in a Maldivian style as was the large bathroom. The term, ‘beach front’ room must be taken with a pinch of salt though, as you would be forgiven for thinking that the room was on the beach with the sea lapping near to your door...this is not the case, and you will need to refer to the island map for clarity. The speciality restaurants are fabulous , expensive but fabulous. The 300 plus island rooms are served by a new ‘ eat as much as you can’ buffet restaurant. The food is good, not exceptional, but of a reasonably good standard and multi national. Children’s menus are provided. Dinner times, serving such a large number of guests turned sometimes into a ‘bun-fight’ with some nationalities lacking in decorum and politeness. There is stunning and safe lagoon for children, there is also a variety of motorise and non-motorised water activities. There is an excellent house reef with swim-out points in several locations. The island, being so close to Male, does suffer from some sea-plane air noise, but we did not find this a problem. In conclusion, if you are seeking a less populated island with rooms directly onto the beach and a more relaxed dining experience ( fewer people ) I would suggest ( with sadness ) that you should look elsewhere, but if you are happy with a buffet meal as above, rooms a little further from the beach I would suggest that this is an excellent island for families and couples alike, as it is safe and wonderful and the staff are absolutely delightful as is tropical feel and the warm waters.
