Bandos Maldives

My husband and I spent our 25th wedding anniversary on Bandos. It was our first visit to the Maldives and it way surpassed our expectations. The island was simply beautiful, stunning beaches, with overflowing palm trees and an abundance of fish that you can easily spot from the shoreline - but the snorkelling was unbelievable too! The swimming pool was beautifully clean and not crowded and we enjoyed sampling the coctkails and iced coffees at the pool bar served by Guru who was lovely. We went on an all inclusive plan which was brilliant as we didn't incur any additional costs. The food at the Gallery restaurant was delicious and varied and Thoha our waiter looked after us incredibly well. He event decorated our table on our last night and went above and beyond to look after us. We also loved going to the Sea Breeze at night time after dinner and watching the sunsets and Ramiz was so helpful and kind to us. Our daughter bought us a Lobster meal on the beach which we thoroughly enjoyed one evening too. It was probably one of my main highlights. The food was incredible, sitting on the beach, with candles and flowers with the water lapping up will live in my memory for ever. The chef even cam over to us at the end and spoke to us - it felt like a very intimate dining experience in the most beautiful of settings. Would thoroughly recommend. Alex and David.

Bandos Maldives – TripAdvisor Review We had the most incredible stay at Bandos Maldives. From the moment we arrived, the island felt like pure paradise. The surroundings are breathtaking, the white sand and turquoise water look like something off a postcard, and the rooms are beautiful, spacious and very well maintained. What truly made this holiday exceptional was the service. Every single member of staff was warm, polite and genuinely helpful. You can feel that they care. We felt looked after the entire time and left already talking about when we can return. That says it all. Snorkelling straight from the beach was absolutely incredible. We found Nemo and Dory in the coral and even spotted a few baby sharks gliding through the water. It felt like swimming in a real life nature documentary. Just amazing. There are just a couple of practical points future guests might find helpful. On our first day we arrived in the afternoon and headed straight to the beach, only to find that most of the sunbeds had already been taken earlier in the day. There were a number of beds around the island with towels placed on them but no one there at the time, which made it difficult to know what was actually available. We did eventually find some after walking around. The following morning after breakfast, I mentioned the lack of sunbeds to reception and to their credit they responded quickly and delivered two beds to the beach area in front of our room. Great service and very much appreciated. It would also be helpful if there were umbrellas on some of the open beach areas, as not enough shade for everyone when the suns at its brightest. Also worth noting, if you are on half board and prefer more flexibility, à la carte dining is not included and the costs do add up each day. Some days we skipped breakfast and chose to eat lunch instead, which was always pleasant with a fantastic view. However, gratuity and green tax are added to everything, so if you are not all inclusive, be prepared for the total to rise quickly. Overall, an unforgettable experience in a stunning location with truly outstanding service. Thank you Bandos for such a special stay. We will be back.

Bandos island is a 15 minute speed boat ride from Male airport so is easily after a long flight from Heathrow. This small island is simply stunning and our accommodation (premium beach villa) was awesome!! We virtually had a private beach on our doorstep!! The staff were superb - friendly, helpful, and took so much pride in their work - especially Marifi in the Gallery restaurant who was always happy to provide help, and recommendations for places to visit or eat and Ibrahim who kept our accommodation spotless and decorated our bed with lovely flowers when he realised it was our anniversary, a beautiful touch that meant a lot. We highly recommend a visit to this family friendly island paradise.

What an incredible place! I don’t really know where to start, as everything about Bandos was 10/10. We have just come back from a week at Bandos, and would return in a heartbeat. The island is beautiful and perfect for that we wanted, it was easy enough to walk all the way round, great swimming and the house reef was amazing - we saw so many different fish, Turtles, Sharks and even dolphins one day! The food was great in the gallery restaurant, with plenty of choice, everything was really tasty and traditional local food. We’re not really a big fan of going on holiday and eating English food, so we really enjoyed the buffet. The chefs were super friendly and even remembered what you ordered, alongside the waiters who were very attentive and remember your drinks order. We booked the dolphin sunset cruise which again was great, staff really enthusiastic and helpful, and we saw so many dolphins! We also went to the free cooking class, which was great. We booked an candlelit dinner on the beach one night, Ibrahim our waiter was super friendly, really attentive and couldn’t do more for us. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed it. We also booked the BBQ night, again this was great - food was delicious, cooked to your liking and a great range of meat, fish and sushi. A huge shoutout to the staff who really are a credit to the resort, they go above and beyond to make your stay as relaxed as possible. Nothing is too much trouble, they wait on you hand and foot and work so incredibly hard. All staff are friendly, and even those who you see around the island will stop to say hello. A special shout out to Kartihk at the Huvan bar - he was great! He is such a lovely guy, he made sure our drinks were always topped up, went out of his way to look after us and we couldn’t be more thankful! If you’re thinking of booking Bandos, then go for it - you won’t be disappointed. The island is well looked after, fantastic staff, great food and drink and the beaches are stunning. Don’t forget your snorkel and flippers, they’re a must have to get a glimpse of the sea life. A big thank you from room 307!

Great Island with lovely food. Snorkelling Amazing. We had a. Standard beach bungalow which was fine. It had great views and comfortable bed and a hot powerful shower. Clean towels for bungalow and beach daily. All staff were brilliant but must make special mention for our great chefs particularly Tharaka and Jayveer who created a fantastic selection of wonderful tasty dishes for me being a vegetarian and my partner who isn’t. They always had welcoming smiley faces everyday. Also special mention to our waiter Hussain who was went the extra mile with great service. All staff were great too many names to mention. The beach is wonderful with soft sand and crystal clear blue water. Cocktails are really nice at the Sea breeze bar and the pool bar. We had a lovely relaxing stay at Bandos and will hopefully return in the future.
