Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives

Stayed at this resort with partner and as this is our fifth time in the Maldives, my review would be in comparison to other places we’ve already stayed in (sorry can’t be helped) Centara Ras is in a perfect setting as most Maldives resorts - sun, sea , sand. Facilities are as standard - water sport equipment readily available and free to rent which is a bonus. If you’re borrowing the snorkelling gear, they require you to undergo a swimming “test”. We brought our own so we didn’t need to as I would’ve probably fail the test. They have kayaks and paddleboards which you can also use and the peaceful lagoon is perfect if you’re practicing your balance on the board, motorised watersports are not free though. There are various activities like yoga, stretching, badminton etc. The food is lovely , albeit a bit same-y. They’ve got different themes everyday but some of the food are a repeat from previous day. Having said that, the selection is wide (vegan food available) and you can always book in one of the restaurants (Italian, Thai & Arabic) which is included in the all inclusive package - bookings via the app (which you download upon check in), if you fancy a more intimate dinner setting other than the buffet. We had a little bit of issue when checking in as we arrived at around 10am and we are told that our allocated room is not ready. Which is fine, until we found out that there’s actually another room which is ready and that our luggages are already in that room but we were told by the reception that we have to wait 4 hours. We know check in time is 3pm but if the room is ready, why can’t we just go in??? We’ve been travelling for 16 hours, and in desperate need of a shower. We had the same problem with the Centara in Koh Samui which makes me wonder if management is strict on this. If they are, maybe a little flexibility should be considered as with other resorts rather than telling guests there’s a 3-4 hours wait when the room is already sitting empty. It doesn’t make sense. However, the rest of the staff all made up for that, bar & restaurant staff are great. Very attentive, friendly and always ready to help. Our housekeeping guy, Mamoun, is absolutely wonderful and very flexible in providing for what we truly need. He’s very accommodating and even made a lovely gesture by running the hot tub and putting rose petals in it. Unfortunately, it’s a bit too hot for a hot tub, still a lovely touch. We also like that he always come out at our sunloungers and say hi and let us know that he’ll start cleaning and ask if there’s anything we need before he leaves.very helpful, indeed. Entertainment The karaoke night is entertaining and amusing as most karaokes go The disco is ok. As for party DJs where you can request a song, with this one you can forget it he’s not going to play it. He’s a good DJ but he won’t listen to requests which is a bit disappointing as some songs actually means something to some people and for your request to be ignored is a big party pooper really. May I also suggest he gets a notebook (as most party DJs do) for the following purpose: a.) guests can write their requested songs then he can cross out once he has played it. b.) he doesnt forget what the requested songs are c) so he doesn’t play the same songs twice - which he did on several occasions at which point we’ve totally lost interest. In general, Centara Ras is a decent enough resort. Lots of things to do - both on water and on land. Although the house reef is not as good as the ones we’ve been to before (not the hotel’s fault) Good location, only 15 minutes by speedboat from Male airport. Most of all, I commend the staff (bar, restaurants and housekeeping) for the service they provide. We can see that they do work hard to give you what you need and are flexible in accommodating your requests and these things, no matter how trivial, goes a long way in terms of customer service and satisfaction.

Just back from this resort. Booked it a long time ago and was nervous about the construction work going on and how it would affect the resort. The impact for me was very minimal and the holiday was wonderful. It’s a beautiful resort and all the staff are lovely. Special mentions go to Dinesh in the Lobby Bar for always keeping the drinks flowing with a smile and great karaoke nights and Mama for his love heart omelettes served every morning with a big smile. The food and drinks are all great and our over water villa was lovely. You can see construction at some parts of the resort but it didn’t impact us much at all.

The resort was amazing. The staff so helpful and nothing was a problem. They make you feel special and they remember you and what you drink. Where you like to sit etc. shohel kept our room clean and made sure we had everything we needed from filling our mini bar up everyday to making sure we had enough pool towels. We had an OWV. He helped make our holiday the best it could be. He checked to see if we had any celebrations and then on the day he made a lovely message on our bed. We were here for 10 days and it was amazing how quick it went
