Jawakara Islands Maldives

This is our 9th time to the Maldives and our 1st time staying at Jawakara so we feel quite qualified when it comes to reviewing this wonderful country, atolls and islands. Our journey from Male to the island was seamless, the lounge at the seaplane terminal was well air conditioned and had plenty of space with tasty nibbles and drinks to keep you going before your seaplane is ready. There are plenty of UK plug sockets should you need to charge any devices. On arrival to Jawakara we were met by our island host Sharm who handed a cool hand/face towel and the most refreshing mocktail as we hopped on a buggy that would take us to our beach villa. Sham could not have done more for us during our stay, she was literally on call 24/7 for anything we needed. She arranged all our meals and activities nice and evenly to make our stay memorable. Every morning she would what's app is with a reminder of what was on that day and any bookings we had for dinner/golf/spa/excursions. We all need a Sham in our life as she was just incredible. Thank you Sham for always looking after us. We booked to stay on Dheru in a beach villa with pool and our room number was 16 which was a sunset room. It was in direct level of the sunset and we had the sun until around 7.15pm. Worth noting that Jawakara has their own time zone which is -1hr behind Male. This gives more daylight hours. Every room comes with enough push bikes for the guests staying, perfect for getting around the island. This is probs the largest island we have stayed on. Our room attended Ram was the best!!! He was so kind and considerate and always made our room immaculate and his sand art he left each evening was so cute! What a talent - thank you Ram for your kindness. We ate in all the restaurants. We stayed for 9 nights which meant our All Inc Premium included 2 A La Carte meals, however because the food was so delicious we added extra A La Carte meals to our stay at an additional cost to us which we didnt mind at all. We also tried the Tepinyaki which is a first for us at Umi restaurant and Matthew our chef is the funnest person to be around. He has got so much humour and skill, he made our evening so personal and his Miso soup and Wagyu steak are to die for. Defo try this if you can, you wont be disappointed. We did eat in the buffet restaurant on Dheru also and never had a bad meal. We always ate breakfast there and we really have to praise Olivia and Malika servers for always being so polite and even remembering our drinks order after day 1. That impressed me massively. They always had a huge smile no matter what time of day you seen them. Part of our All Inc Premium did include a 60mins spa treatment. Sham arranged this for us and this was probably one of the best massages I have ever had (and I've had many!) We had a couples treatment room and were looked after by Tini and Chai. We both came away floating on air. Thank you to both who gave us the massage of our lives. We took some snorkeling equipment from the dive centre and it was really good quality, no leaking from the mask! The best snorkeling area was around Mabin villas, my husband is more adventurous than I am so he ventured further than me and seen turtles, decent size black tip sharks and huge colourful fish. I like to be able to stay close to the shore but still seen plenty of small bright colourful fish and a baby reef shark. There was nightly entertainment on in 1 of the bars and a particular favourite of ours is always Maldivian night. We have seen this so many times and will never bore of it. There is a white party, a glow party.... or if you just want a quiet night then you can find this in another bar just to chill with a cocktail. We also had a few rounds of golf which is in the centre of Mabin, great fun to burn off all the delicious food and cocktails, but I would say to play early morning if possible as the heat from 11am onwards can make it a full on work out. By the way, the food at Hideout is delicious, we went for lunch and wished we would have gone back another day. Jawakara is now in our top Maldive islands, we cannot recommend this island enough and even while its beautiful to look at, the staff really make it extra special. They cannot do enough for you. Please be kind to the staff as they all work incredibly hard to make your holiday a beautiful one. We loved to chat to the chefs at the live cooking stations (most love to chat about cricket which we also love to chat about) We had such an amazing time here and miss it so much! We would definitely recommend Jawakara to anyone! There is something for everyone here whether you are active or just like to rest and live in the moment. We visted there as a couple for the first time to celebrate my 50th bday and wow its paradise!! We stayed at Mabin side of the resort in the Water Villa's. The place is simply exceptional from the moment you step off that seaplane and does not stop throughout the stay. The resort is exceptionally clean, the staff are so polite and attentive, food and drink is of the highest quality you will never be stuck on what to eat. The drinks , from wine choices, cocktails to smoothies are all scrumptious. The food is just excpetional !! The Villas are amazing, they are of the highest standard with all the necessary toiletries provided cleaned twice a day. The Spa is the best I have ever been to , if you can have a treatment you will be love it. The beaches are clean, quiet and you will see the most amazing marine life ever just walking along the beach. The views everywhere on the Island are just spectacular you will never want to close your eyes. Snoreking is well just incredible !!! we were so lucky to see some incredible fish right next to our water villa. Finally the staff , they are all just beautiful always smiling, welcoming and attentive, the best customer service ever experienced. Do not hesistate just book you will not regret...

We had a wonderful stay on Mabin island! The restaurant options and choice of food within each restaurant were brilliant and the quality of food was great. The staff were all super friendly and so helpful and our island host, Bijay, couldn't do any more for us. My partner celebrated his birthday whilst we were here and they made the day so special for him. The rooms had everything you needed, and the restocking of the mini bar every day was wonderful. We made use of the golf course and the ocean spa whilst there, and both facilities were fantastic. The sunset dolphin cruise was also an amazing experience. We also had a candlelight dinner on the beach, which is something that we will never forget, it was a wonderful ending to a perfect relaxing holiday!

Great trip for family. When you need something - there is always an assistant who will help you at anytime (ours was Bijay - if you decide to visit Jawakara and so happens that he is your assistant - consider yourself to be lucky, because he is a great person)

Jawakara is an amazing place, we had the best time! The location is perfect, the atmosphere is incredible, and everyone is super friendly. The island never felt overcrowded, and we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Our mini bar was always fully stocked up, which was a lovely touch. All the staff were fantastic and made us feel completely at home. A special thank you to our housekeeper, Abinash, who kept our room spotless and surprised us with beautiful sand art that we absolutely loved. Also to waiter, Lele, who made every meal experience even more enjoyable, and to our island host, Sruthy, who was always happy to help us with anything we needed. Meals at the al a carte restaurants were always fantastic, especially Umi where all staff were really attentive and accomodating when requesting slight differences to the menu. Thank you all for making our holiday so special, we can’t wait to come back!
