TripAdvisor Review – SAii Lagoon Maldives
We stayed in a Beach Villa at SAii Lagoon Maldives for what was originally meant to be a 6-night stay in March 2026. Due to travel delays, our stay was unexpectedly extended by another 7 nights — making it 13 nights in total — and honestly, we couldn’t have been happier about it. The extra time just meant we got to experience even more of what this incredible resort has to offer.
The Resort
The resort itself is spotless — everything is clean, tidy, and beautifully maintained. The staff across the entire property are warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. You always feel looked after, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble.
One thing that really impressed us was the technology. Almost everything can be done through the resort app — booking restaurants, activities, excursions, and more. It makes organising your stay incredibly easy and seamless.
Another big plus is that snorkel equipment is complimentary, as are pedalos and canoes, which is fantastic if you enjoy getting out on the water whenever you feel like it.
Nature also puts on a show here — dolphins regularly pass the island multiple times a day, which never gets old. And the sunsets are honestly the best we’ve ever seen anywhere in the world.
Snorkelling
A huge shoutout to the snorkel guides Kaaty, Aiwan, and Gurey. They were absolutely phenomenal. They showed us some of the most incredible marine life and made the whole experience feel completely safe — even when we encountered triggerfish! Their knowledge, enthusiasm, and professionalism really elevated the experience and made every snorkelling trip unforgettable.
Food & Restaurants
The food across the island — and at the nearby marina — was outstanding. Every restaurant we tried was 5-star worthy, with incredible flavours and presentation. We genuinely had no complaints at all throughout our entire stay.
Restaurants we visited included:
- Miss Olive Oyl
- Terra & Mar
- Mr. Tomyam
- Miss Olive Oyl Pool Bar
- Hard Rock Café Maldives
- Kebab & Kurry (The Marina)
- Kinkao Thai Bistro (The Marina)
- Jiao Wu (The Marina)
Every meal was fantastic, with excellent service and great atmosphere.
Bars
Another special mention to the bar staff Prasanna and NaBin — they were fantastic throughout our stay. Efficient, friendly, and somehow they remembered our drink orders perfectly every time. The cocktails were easily some of the best we’ve had anywhere.
Spa Experience
We also visited the spa for an exfoliating treatment, and the whole experience was phenomenal from start to finish. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with drinks, and after the treatment we were given another drink to relax with before leaving. The treatment itself was amazing and incredibly relaxing — one of those experiences where you walk out feeling completely refreshed.
Entertainment
Entertainment was also top notch. The Hard Rock karaoke nights were brilliant fun, and the band V'Nez were absolutely incredible — easily one of the highlights of the evenings.
Access to Hard Rock Hotel Maldives
Being able to use the facilities at the neighbouring Hard Rock Hotel Maldives was a great bonus if you enjoy a slightly livelier vibe. We mostly went over for drinks rather than meals, so I can’t comment on the restaurants there, but the atmosphere is definitely energetic. Families will also love that there’s a water slide for children at the Hard Rock pool.
Activities
We also joined the water aerobics, led by a fantastic instructor who made it so much fun and full of energy — a great way to start the day in paradise.
Overall
Our unexpected extended stay ended up being a blessing because it gave us even more time to enjoy everything SAii Lagoon has to offer. Between the incredible staff, fantastic food, beautiful surroundings, amazing snorkelling, unforgettable sunsets, and the wonderful spa experience, this truly became one of the best resort stays we’ve ever had.
We’re already planning our next trip back, which probably says everything you need to know.
If anyone reading this is considering visiting and has any questions about the resort, the villas, snorkelling, or activities, I’m more than happy for people to contact me through TripAdvisor — I’d be glad to help.
