Summer Island Maldives

Wow, Wow, Wow!!! What an amazing experience diving and snorkelling on Summer island. The Mantas were so close when snorkelling as they majestically glided passed us and then kept returning whilst the Instructor guides were terrific, working so hard to make sure we all had the best experience. The diving was incredible with the Mantas, they just kept on gliding by and some were huge. On other dives we saw Turtle, so many turtle simply eating. Stone fish, Leaf fish, a playful Octopus, Moray eels, a variety of Sharks and Rays including a Porcupine Ray or 2, beautiful corals, little critters, Clams, too many huge schools of fish to mention and Lion fish. Wow! What a FANTASTIC trip. The dive centre (Diverland) was friendly and very professionally managed by Robin and Natalia, they really ensure that you have the best diving and snorkelling experience whilst you are there, arranging dive sites where certain critters are expected to be found at that time and making the sites varied and suiting all different levels. Usually dive boats go out twice daily and snorkelling boats are also arranged separately. Robin and Natalia are in the water every day and really are experts. NOTE due to the current flight situation the resort is only about half it's capacity so we were diving with very, very low numbers and Robin has the boat visit many islands that other islands do not visit, perfect eh! It was special for sure. and so glad we went. More instructor guides than divers, my kind a trip! Now is a great opportunity to visit as it is still peak season and not crowded at all. You might even take a 'try dive' or learn to dive there like our friends. The house reef is ideal for a snorkel or easy dive from the shore for new and experienced divers. Clear warm waters, quality hire gear and the best run dive centre in my opinion on a beautiful relaxed island. I can't wait to go back there is so much to see. Top marks

This is my 3rd time back at summer island as I absolutely love it here . It’s all you can imagine and more . Beautiful white beaches and clear blue sea . The resort is lovely , clean and the food is amazing . The staff go way beyond being helpful , nothing is never to much , very friendly . Special mention to Mohit , excellent chef . Time flys while there , lots to do, plenty of activities to take part in . Every day you see something different . The room I stayed in was great , spacious and clean . Cannot wait to go back next year .

1. We had emailed ahead to ask for a lagoon view room, but they still put us on the breakwater side. The other two white couples who checked in with us got the nice lagoon view rooms instead. 2. I told them it was my birthday when they asked about special occasions, but we got nothing—no cake, no note, no small gesture at all.

Another stay at the island draws to a close. I have never felt so much at peace whilst staying here. I have felt love and caring from the staff who always acknowledged me, no matter what their role was. I also felt safe, which is a strange thing to say but since getting older I have felt less invincible and need that feeling that I feel safe and secure in my surroundings. The island is peaceful and tranquil. No matter where you go on the island it’s clean and organised. It goes without saying I don’t want to go home but I’ve already booked to return next year. I read the reviews about the resort on YouTube and wanted to experience it myself Last year, I visited the Maldives and stayed at Cocogiri Resort. So I want to see how different it is. A little disappointed that the receiving staff did not come to the new terminal building to look out for us when we landed. We decided to go to their counter to look for them after going thru the old terminal where the counters are located. One thing to note: do not get local SIM cards from touters near the official telecom operators. We bought one at Oredoo and the staff were busy on their own phone and passed on from one to the other, not being professional. But once we were at the resort, it was like a more friendly environment. We were amazed by the service provided by dining staff Rofiq and Sana Ullah at the Samuga restaurant during our meals. I was given ginger and honey( house remedy) because I had a sore throat and was down with a cold. This time round, I tried their daily complimentary 1-hour snorkeling, night snorkeling and ket-ski. We also had a great spa treatment at their Spa center.
