Summer Island Maldives

What a fabulous island resort! As a solo traveller it gave me exactly what I needed. I have ADHD and can get overwhelmed very easily, however, this place was paradise. Nobody pestered you or bothered you, unless your glass was empty! From the moment you step on the speedboat, you’re cared for exquisitely, right up until the moment you step back off on your way home. The staff are absolutely fantastic. A huge special shoutout to ‘ Mahfesh’ (I’m hoping that’s his name!) he’s wonderful, after 1 day he knew my favourite place to sit, what drink I like, how I like it made, whether I have tea or coffee in a morning. He really made me feel at home. I stayed in 321, it was beautiful and very clean, morning cleaning was a little early for me, but after the first morning of putting my ‘do not disturb’ sign out, they came back later every single morning, most places still disturb you, no here, it’s great! All the staff say hello as they walk past, the icing on the cake for me is how they waved us off as our boat departed the island - very sweet! It’s a very peaceful island, with lots of nature, plenty of geckos, lizards, bats, Maldivian bird and of course the island heron. The pool was spotless every day without fail. Don’t pack shoes, you won’t wear them! The food is the best all inclusive food I’ve ever had, everything cooked to perfection, so much variety, beautiful salads, freshly cut fruit and beautiful deserts. Thank you so much for an amazing experience, because of this, I’ll be back next year!

Our recent stay at Summer Island was exceptional in every aspect. The island is extraordinarily well maintained, and this is entirely due to the dedication of its wonderful staff. Every day we were greeted with genuine smiles, warmth, and professionalism, creating an atmosphere that immediately feels like home. Our room was of an excellent standard, immaculately kept, and attended to with care. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the gentleman responsible for our room endured our needs were met with kindness and efficiency. The infinity pool was cleaned and prepared daily, with towels readily available - an appreciated touch that reflects the resort’s attention to detail. The bars and restaurants across the island offer an impressive variety of top-class cuisine. At Samuga, every dish was served hot, beautifully prepared, and of exceptional quality. A special thank you to Luthufee for his kindness and professionalism - it was truly appreciated. At Hiya, we were served by Joynal and Laxmi, both of whom delivered excellent customer service throughout our stay. The culinary team, led by Mohit, deserves particular recognition. His dedication, creativity and meticulous attention to detail are outstanding. The cuisine is a credit to the resort. Across Avi, and Nevi bars, the drink selection is exceptional - remarkably extensive for the Maldives. At Baraveli, we were welcomed each day with a smile, and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the daily life of the island unfold from this beautiful beachfront spot. We made full use of the water sports facilities, led by Adam, whose knowledge of the island and its surroundings is invaluable. His guidance is highly recommended. Despite occasional comments from others, we found the house reef to be vibrant and full of life. During our stay we observed dolphins, turtles, an abundance of fish, and even sharks mating. The management team on Summer Island is phenomenal. They are visible, approachable, and consistently welcoming. Their commitment to hospitality is evident in every interaction, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Summer Island is a unique and truly special island. Summer Island takes only 30-45 minutes to walk around. The sand is like powder. The water is warm and full of fish everywhere you look. The buffet is available all meals and has a high standard and great selection of tasty food. Theme nights keep the food interesting. The à la carte restaurant and bar are nice and more adult friendly. Water sports are available in many forms while the snorkeling is fabulous. I saw turtles, schools of colourful fish, octopus and squid. The day spa is high quality. The quality of the rooms are very high with all the comforts you need. Air conditioning, outside seats with quality cushions makes everything ideal for whatever you want to do whether indoors or outside. There is badminton and table tennis, pool table and 3 bars to visit. They have guest bands and entertainment too. Special shout out to Ramar my room attendant and Akmal in the restaurant both were 5 star, polite, friendly and available for a chat if you wanted local knowledge. Do yourself a favour and visit Summer Island - I want to visit again soon.

Absolutely stunning and outstanding service! From food to the room cleaning! The food variation was excellent and the way they clean the room it blown my mind with the extra detail they would do it! Managers were fantastic and very understanding!

We spent 9 days at the Summer Island resort in early May. It was our 5th stay at this hotel and as always we booked the AI ​​meal plan - to avoid additional costs. Since we are experienced travelers (15 times in Maldives) we can compare and Summer Island has grown to our hearts. From the first steps after our arrival at the resort we felt a friendly atmosphere. Immediate check in and accommodation was a reward for a long journey with a transfer in Abu Dhabi. Our bungalow No. 380 met our expectations. Peace and quiet in today's turbulent times was a balm for our soul. Also the underwater world in the nearby lagoon was an attraction for us for snorkeling. I can confirm that the area around the resort has probably the largest number of sea anemones and Nemo fish of any hotel we have visited so far. The condition of the corals is gradually improving, which makes us very happy. The hotel was less than half full, so snorkeling around the resort was also very relaxing. Most guests took advantage of the daily snorkeling trips. We were only there once. We saw turtles, but otherwise everything is more beautiful at home in the coral garden. Everything in the resort runs smoothly thanks to experienced managers. All employees do their job very professionally. Several bartenders from Navi bar recognized us from previous visits even though it was 4 or more years ago. They even remembered our favorite drink from the past: Clear rum & beer with foam.We would like to thank all staff of this bar (Kumura, Pratheesh, Maneesh, Menaka...), all waiters in the Samuga restaurant and others who took care of us. We are grateful for a friendship that is not based on money (tips) but on good people and beautiful memories. Once again, thank you all and see you sometime in the future. K & Z from Slovakia
