Thulhagiri Island Resort and Spa

It was our first time in the Maldives. At the Thulagiri Resort, we didn’t miss a thing. The people working there were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always helpful. A wonderful, personal atmosphere was created. The food tasted fantastic. We had the all-inclusive option and would always choose it again. All-inclusive means breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus drinks throughout the entire day. This was very necessary in that kind of weather. Every guest has a personal contact person from housekeeping and the restaurant, which was great. The beach is amazing. In the lagoon, we saw rays and sharks. Snorkeling at the reef edge is excellent, and with a rope, getting into the water is very easy. There is also a beach bar right by the shore where you can get drinks. We booked a trial dive, a sunburn massage, and went jet skiing. Everything was completely smooth and really great. Highly recommended! As a small suggestion for improvement, it would have been nice to have cushions for the sun loungers, as it was a bit hard with just towels. But as I said, this is only a minor suggestion and did not detract from our wonderful vacation at all. We would like to sincerely thank everyone!

Just back from a week at this resort. We had a fantastic time, the weather was very good all week (32+ degrees each day) and the views and sunsets were spectacular. The room was nice, bamboo furniture which was fine, the bathroom was spacious and the shower was open to the sky which was lovely. We had our own veranda at the front of the room that had sunbeds on that were in the shade until the late afternoon. There were also plenty of sun loungers on the beach that anyone could use. The restaurant was good with plenty of fresh food and salad for each meal. No chips or nuggets though but plenty of curry and other beef and chicken dishes. We enjoyed and tried everything. Keep in mind that there is no pork here as it’s a Muslim country so there is no pork bacon or sausages - they have pork alternatives which I really didn’t mind. The staff were all very friendly and the service was excellent everywhere. It’s a lovely resort with clear water and a relaxed atmosphere, I was one only a few people who wore footwear in the evening, most others, including my partner went barefoot. There were a good mix of nationalities there and I think we were the only British couple there. The TUI rep was on site and was very helpful and always on hand if needed. All in all we had a fantastic week here and have some lovely memories - swimming with sharks & rays being one of them!! Final comment, when we were there the problems in the Middle East had caused a lot of trips to be cancelled so the resort was at about 30% occupancy so it was quieter than usual. That said, I don’t think the place being fuller would have made a difference to our holiday.

One of the first things that come to mind when you mention the Maldives are white sand beaches, tropical islands, exclusive resorts, and so forth. You get all of these when you visit or stay at Thulhagiri Island Resort & Spa. They say it's one of the affordable private Island resorts in the Maldives. Well if a US$700 overnight stay is affordable", then you're right. You pay an additional US$12 Green Tax. The resort offers you great services, from accommodation to food, spa, etc. The staff were very friendly and the place is a true paradise! We took a 15min speedboat ride from the jetty port just outside the Velana International Airport to reach the island. A round-trip ticket cost US$110 per head. We stayed in an overwater bungalow, which was really lovely! The resort also has a spa, a restaurant, an infinity swimming pool, a game area, a clinic, a souvenir shop, a chapel, and much more. We had a great time staying at this resort. But be prepared to shell out a lot of money, especially when you buy things from the souvenir shop. 😀

Beautiful little island, beautiful white beaches. Snorkeling opportunities around the whole island - sharks, manta rays and other marine life. Staff nice, helpful. We had a health problem and the staff and hotel management were very helpful and accommodating. Thank you very much for this help. We remember the bartender from the beach bar very much, who became our friend, with whom our ten year old son Kája also became very friendly. A true paradise on earth
