LUX* Le Morne este situat chiar pe o plajă de nisip strălucitor, cu o coborâre ușoară spre ocean. Oaspeții pretențioși vor fi încântați de serviciile de înaltă calitate și de standardul de lux care poate fi simțit aproape la fiecare pas. Turiștii activi au la dispoziție o ofertă sportivă variată ca parte a All Inclusive-ului. Bucătăria gustoasă și variată, servită în 4 restaurante, așteaptă gurmanzii de vacanță. Relaxarea bine meritată este asigurată în camerele și suitele spațioase, unele cu vedere la ocean. Aici fiecare vacanță va fi un succes.

    From the moment we arrived, the charm of the staff set the tone for an unforgettable stay. Their warm welcomes made us feel instantly at home, and every interaction carried a genuine sense of care and hospitality. The food was simply delightful — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Drinks flowed effortlessly, complementing the atmosphere with a touch of elegance. The highlight of the evening was the music by She Devil DJ — absolutely amazing! Her energy transformed the night into a vibrant celebration, blending rhythm and soul in a way that kept everyone enchanted. Overall, Lux Le Morne is not just a hotel, but an experience — where charm, taste, and music come together to create memories that linger long after you leave.

    We stayed at LUX* Le Morne with reasonable and realistic expectations after sampling their property in the Maldives, alongside the properties 5-star positioning, reviews and premium peak season pricing - however the reality was extremely disappointing. From the moment we entered the room, there was a strong, persistent heavy smell of damp, overbearingly mildew-like. The air conditioning, essential in the heat, only made this worse, blowing air that felt unsanitary rather than fresh (see pictures of the in ventilation build-up). Whenever I woke in the night, I would have to pull be bed covers over my nose - the smell was that uncomfortable. On closer inspection, it became clear this wasn’t a minor issue but a wider problem with cleanliness and maintenance. There was visible mould, heavy dirt and dust build-up (including on vents and ceiling fixtures), grime on surfaces, and a general lack of proper cleaning throughout the room. Even the bedsheets had visible staining on an occasion, which completely undermined any sense of hygiene. Quite simply, nothing in the room felt clean - it was the only trip where we could not wait to get the flight home purely to feel clean again. It’s obvious the aged property is overdue a complete refurbishment to all areas, though the LUX group evidently prefer to opt for opening new properties over maintaining their pre-existing portfolio. An example that sums up the lack of attention to detail: a birthday cake was kindly delivered to the room, but due to being only being covered with a catering lid, and not sealed - the result by the time we got to the room was a trail of ants over the cake, surface, floor etc. Other bizarre issues such as checking-in to the room with baby cot, nappy bin etc - despite being a couple with no children and having to call to get this removed (but only after trying all phone options as the phone was old and missing the directory so you had no idea what the 30+ buttons were linked to). We requested a room move due all mentioned issues but were told there was “no availability” - despite rooms showing as available on the hotel’s own website at the time and saying we would happily pay to upgrade - adding further frustration. Beyond the room, the experience continued to fall short. The food was consistently average at best, the half board offering feels far closer to an all inclusive buffet-style setup than any level of a ‘5-star’ dining experience, with many à la carte options also requiring additional charges to dine and the main restaurant chaotic - noisy, busy, canteen style. Main bar cocktails were like rocket fuel, again more like a cheap all inclusive - but ironically not cheap. Beach restaurant served pasta beyond ‘al dente’ and simply undercooked which speaks volumes when it’s the basics being missed - that being said we had a better meal there at lunch, and the Thai was good so ‘hit and miss’ was our overall takeaway if we were to be kind, which matched the service too. Service overall was mixed. Some staff were genuinely excellent and are the only real positive to take from the stay. However, this was not consistent and some spoilt the hard work of others where you didn’t know what you were going to get with each area. We experienced a particularly confrontational and rude interaction with a member of staff at the pool, which made us uncomfortable enough to avoid using what is otherwise one of the hotel’s best features. It’s also worth noting there are no quiet or adult-only pool areas, so you should expect noise from children throughout the day regardless of where you try to relax. Overall, this stay fell significantly below 5-star standards, particularly in terms of cleanliness and hygiene, which should be the absolute baseline. Given we paid high-season pricing, the experience represented very poor value for money and did regretfully tarnish our time in Mauritius. I rarely write negative reviews, but this is not a property I would recommend to anyone based on our experience. Thankfully for us we did a split stay - go for the likes of Shangri La or One & Only if you’re looking for a genuine five star experience and just do a day trip to Le Morne via boat etc to experience the iconic area. The above concerns in this review were also shared privately through the resort’s requested post-stay feedback process shortly after departure. We were advised that somebody would contact us directly, however no acknowledgement or follow-up was ever received. This ultimately left the impression that feedback is acknowledged procedurally rather than addressed with any meaningful accountability or genuine engagement - which I am sure will publicly follow below.

    Anikat was very helpful and made the best cocktails! From start to finish our experience here was wonderful, it would take me too long to describe how perfect everything has been. Couldn’t recommended staying and dining here more. Five stars from start to finish!
