LUX* Le Morne

It’s was our first time in Mauritius. Everything was great, very clean and well-maintained hotel, with friendly and extremely helpful staff. The Mauritian night with Nazeea Peerbocus just stole our heart, her charm, her smile and of course her food was a great experience that will remain in our hearts

It’s one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The beach is incredibly gorgeous and the view of the Le morne mountain from every angle of the resort was amazing. The ocean suite was a delightful stay; direct beach access and premium views. The room was squeaky clean. I got a turn down service every night. The staff are super professional, friendly, welcoming and nice. The food was so good. The omakase experience at Kawaii restaurant is a must do! I couldn’t have imagined a better holiday.

We spent a week at this stunning hotel. The rooms were absolutely beautiful and spacious, the beach was a dream, warm waters and so peaceful, 2 stunning pool and amazing bar service, the food selection was out of this world, but what made this trip extra special was the amazing people, we would like to say a special thank you to the following people, you guys are amazing,Dylan, Loic, Aniket, Kishen, Pretham, Alonso, Eualie, Shrish, Hossen, Abi, there were so many more and unfortunately we did not get the names of everyone, we so appreciate how you made us feel at home, we won’t forget you, what a beautiful place and we will always treasure the memories we had here, we wish you all the very best and hope to come visit soon

Lux Le More was the final stop of our honeymoon and the hotel we were most excited about but unfortunately it did not meet expectations. Upon arrival, the receptionist requested a screenshot to be emailed of our booking confirmation, this felt odd, as if our reservation was being questioned. We arrived early so understandably our room wasn’t ready , but were offered breakfast and access to the all-inclusive, which was great! At 2pm we were shown to our ‘sunset’ suite but instead of a sunset view, we faced the back of a restaurant and car park/boat yard, the furthest room possible, at the very end of the hotel. The room itself was dirty, questionable marks on the bed, dusty furnishings, sticky rings on the bedside table and a dirty minibar. We asked to switch rooms but were told the hotel was full. After a lot of back and forth, we were presented with two options, either a better room but for only 2 nights of our stay, meaning we would have to pack up and move or a downgrade. We opted for a downgrade, which ended up being cleaner and more comfortable. (This was quite frustrating to us as we had received multiple sales/add on emails from the hotel prior to check flogging upgrades). On day two, we woke up with a fresh mindset but sadly we were quickly disappointed yet again when we ordered coffees at breakfast that never arrived. Overall the service was very mixed, excellent at the main bar in the evenings, but lacking elsewhere. Lunch by the pool was served in tatty plastic boxes, not something you would expect from a 5* hotel. Spa: Our couples massage was great and the staff were friendly, but the facilities felt tired and below 5-star standards. Food: The buffet had great variety and the beach restaurant was nice, but it required booking at least two days in advance, so we ended up eating at the buffet more than we wanted. The Thai restaurant (not included in AI) was good but lacked atmosphere as there was no background music. As we were on our honeymoon, we were entitled to certain perks, including a cooking class or cocktail-making, which didn’t really appeal to us. We receives prosecco and canapés, although this turned out to be stale nibbles left in our room one evening. We also had the beach dinner, which was lovely. Towards the end of our trip, my husband sent some laundry to be done. After not receiving it back the specified 24 hours, he asked reception about it and was later informed by the head of housekeeping that the items had been RUINED, asking if he still wanted them returned. When he received them, they had been badly bleached. We were offered hotel credit as compensation, which was useless as it was our last day and we were all-inclusive. At that point, we could only laugh at how poor the experience had been for a supposed 5-star luxury hotel. Other negatives: - Towels down before breakfast kind of hotel, not a great mentality! - Water stations throughout the hotel were good but rarely had any cups. - Main bar closes at 11pm, staff start packing furniture at 10:45pm which killed the atmosphere. Positives: - Stunning sunsets and beach. - Service buttons at sun-beds for drinks (when staff available).
 - Complimentary boat trips and pedalos Overall, our honeymoon was memorable, but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. Very disappointing for the price. The experience lacked the thoughtful details and special touches you would expect from a luxury stay. We will not be staying at a LUX hotel again. Don’t trust everything you see on Instagram or TikTok!
