Fantastic hotel..excellent room with air conditioning..Food was excellent..hotel facilities were excellent

I celebrated my birthday and the staff were friendly, courteous, polite and helpful. Rosa, Rafa and Betty top people and if I have forgotten anyone else please forgive me. You were all awesome 👌 BIG UP RIU CANCUN - BOOOP

We stayed here last minute when we decided to come into Cancun and it had a lot of a Las Vegas style vibe, wide variety of people great food and overall a great experience we will definitely come back

My stay at the Hotel Riu Cancun Mexico was the best Vacation ever. I stayed there APRIL 7th to the 14th 2026. I've been to this RIU 3 Years ago and also the RIU OCHO RIOS Jamaica and The RIU Montego Bay Jamaica. I just Retired and out of all my Hotel Resort stays the Hotel Riu Cancun Mexico was the BEST because they treated me very well. 1st and Foremost I like to say that the Management staff who is exceptional in their performance of doing their job. They are attentive to the Guests as well as to the Guests Concerns. Namely, Sara Romero Asst:Director, Beatriz Rosario: Public Relations, and Francisco.Morales:Director. GREAT JOB! I would also like to Recognize ANGIE who works in the Sports Bar, she is also a Great person and worker Thanks Everyone for your kind and caring hand in helping me make my Vacation Successful 😊.

I am writing this review with a deep sense of disappointment. I have been staying at RIU hotels for years, consistently trusting their brand standards, but my recent experience at Riu Cancun was so deplorable that I will never set foot in their facilities again. ​What used to be a guarantee of quality service has turned into a disaster at every level: ​Sanitary Negligence: It is shocking to see chefs coughing directly over the food at the buffet stations. As a long-time customer, I have never witnessed such a blatant disregard for hygiene and guest health. ​Discrimination and "Tipping Culture" Abuse: The service is completely corrupted by dollar tips. The priority is not the guest’s comfort, but the cash in hand. We experienced an insulting moment when the umbrella staff took ours away without asking just to give it to a foreign tourist. It is unbelievable that they choose to mistreat a loyal customer in favor of an immediate tip. ​Security Issues: We had items go missing from our room, which completely destroyed any remaining trust I had in this brand. ​Hostile Staff: Waiters ignore you, and many employees seem to be in a constant bad mood. I was even forbidden from touching the food at the snack bar just 5 minutes before opening (11:00 AM) with an authoritarian and inflexible attitude. ​Food Quality Decline: The food has lost all its quality. The flavor has significantly declined and the presentation is careless; it is nowhere near what this chain used to offer. ​Conclusion: I know very well what RIU is supposed to represent, but this specific hotel has fallen to unacceptable levels. If you are a loyal customer of this chain, avoid Riu Cancun—your loyalty means nothing here unless you have dollars in your hand at all times.
