Riu Cancun

Be mindful this is more an 18-30 hotel with lots of screaming teenagers.Had to side step pools of vomit some mornings. Before a maturer crowd,this kinda spoiled our much saved for & anticipated holiday. Having been to Mexico before,this was nothing like previous experiences & I was disappointed for my friends who were on their first visit. Main pool was so noisy,thankfully we found the quieter pool near the corner bar. Staff were excellent & nothing was too much trouble. Food & drink really good & all round,excellent value Rooms are so dated & desperately need an overhaul . Tried to upgrade only to be told all rooms were off the same standard Would we return- no

The property was excellent! Great staff, great service, great amenities, food, etc. The room left a lot to be desired. The beds were awful, you could feel the springs, the bathroom toilet was broken and one of the sinks were broken. There was one outlet in the bathroom and nothing would stay plugged in. There were 3 outlets in the room itself, and again, nothing would stay plugged in. To have such a great property, they could upgrade the rooms a bit!

Overall satisfactory with plenty of events and restaurants in the resort to vary our choices on a day by day basis.

The food and entertainment were decent overall, and one highlight was the shuttle service that took guests to the parties each day — a fun and convenient touch. The Pink Pool Party was definitely a good time. As for the restaurants, just be warned: show up before 9 PM or you risk being turned away, even though they don’t close until 9:30–10 PM. The lobby is stunning and makes a great first impression — unfortunately, that’s where the positives end when it comes to the property itself. Our room was a major disappointment. There was a strong mold smell, and visible mold was present. One morning we woke up to find a dead roach, which was unsettling to say the least. The sheets were stained and had a sour smell, and the room overall felt extremely outdated. For the price of an all-inclusive resort in Cancún, this is simply not acceptable. This hotel has potential given its location and entertainment offerings, but it is in serious need of renovations and better housekeeping standards. Would not stay here again until significant upgrades are made.

I enjoyed my second stay at the Riu Cancun. They take good care of the beach Seagram wise. The food option are ok nothing specular, but I like it. the entertainment is amazing they have night shows, bingo trivia, Riu parties at the Riu Caribe, The have a small night club on the property which is a plus it is which walking distance of other attraction club etc. The staff are always great. They do a good job cleaning the room daily, cleaning the property too. I will return one day. For 5 to 6 days it is cost effective for my budget.
