Riu Cancun

The hotel was nice. Food could be better as they missing some choices at the buffet. The airport pick up did not work and the Hotel have outsource the service to a third party. I have to pay $100 for a taxi and no one in the hotel or the third party take any reponsibility. Probably not going here again.

The hotel was amazing great experience.

Rui Cancun is ideal it's right on the beach, The hotel it's self is very grand & some places needs refreshing to bring it back to a 5* which it was previously believe. We had a quiet room with no noisy neighbours & it was perfectly functional. Unfortunately some people spoilt our stay, after having our meal a drink in the bar would be a nice end to the day. But, some people were so loud & rowdy drinking shots the more they drunk theblouder they got.You couldn't here yourself talk & we were forced to leave the bar as did other people. Also whilst eating in the self service restaurant some guests thought it was acceptable to have an argument & swearing match. This simply isn't on! If the latter hadn't happend & spoil our holiday I would have said it was value for money

We had a great holiday, we used the quiet pool as we found the other pools catered for the party crowd. Sunbeds were plentiful so there was enough for everyone. The food was excellent, service was first class but the room was dated and would benefit from a refurb. Hotel perfectly located in the hotel zone with a short transfer to and from the airport.

We stayed at the Riu Cancun 4 years ago and had a great holiday, this time round we knew it was changed to adult only so we thought that was good. There were a lot of young Americans 18-20 and the were very loud especially at night screaming and shouting and doors banging. No regard for other people. The pool areas were full with a lot of people enjoying themselves but the other side of it was people being sick in and around the pool, falling around and having to be brought back inside the hotel in a wheelchair by staff. The entertainment crew were entertaining and they clearly put a lot of work in but the tribute bands that were brought in were either not very good or were miming, this was not the case when we were here 4 years ago. The staff across the board cannot do enough for you and are very pleasant, the food is also a very good standard. I felt sorry for the cleaning staff as they weren't given a break, people were coming into the foyer in their wet swimwear which was clearly stated around not to do so. We spoke with some people staying in the hotel who had a worst experience than us, no sleep at night with the noise I feel the hotel should revert back to the way it was as it is a very nice hotel with very hard working pleasant staff.
