Sandos Caracol Nature Resort & Water Park

We did 2 weeks here and overall we really enjoyed the holiday. It was me and my partner who went who are both in our 20s. We were in the adults only section. Pro’s: - The entertainment team but only Francisco, Yiannis, Osnay, Yosibel, Clem were great. They were absolutely incredible throughout and they made our whole holiday! The pool parties they did and the whole package they provided was above and beyond. We found the rest of the entertainment team very rude. The above names mentioned always said hello in passing and would stop for conversations or even just smile if they saw us. The others didn’t speak to us, smile at us or even engage in conversation despite us saying hello to them. We were very disappointed at this as felt they let down the rest of the entertainment team who went above and beyond. - We got upgraded at Check in to a suite which was incredible! We are so grateful we were and the room and balcony was stunning and even had a jacuzzi on the balcony. We had a lounge as well as bedroom and the bathroom and shower room was incredible. Fresh drinkable water tank was refilled daily and the mini fridge was topped up and free throughout. - The wildlife is amazing. We loved the monkeys especially and were able to sit next to them and they even held our arms. Such an incredible experience. - The hotel grounds were beautiful! The caves and waterfalls with the cenote’s were so gorgeous and lovely to see. We enjoyed hiring the bikes (free) and going for bike rides around the resort. You can also hire snorkelling set for free but we didn’t do this. - The evening shows were brilliant and the entertainment afterwards was fantastic including the silent disco which me and my partner loved. Our favourite shows was the Pirate Circus show (on a Sunday) and Michael Jackson (on a Wednesday). - The waitresses and waiters were brilliant and super kind to us. We really appreciated their service. - The Mediterranean, Asian, Italian and steak house restaurant were brilliant! We really enjoyed these restaurants. The Asian in particular was brilliant with the show they put on as well! - The waterpark was good. We enjoyed doing that for a morning or afternoon here and there. The slides were average but something different which we enjoyed. - We never really had issues getting a sunbed. We mostly moved around to the different pools throughout the day and found water park and main pool ok to get a sunbed at any time. - Swim up bar at the main pool was really good! We just wished they opened a bit earlier than 10am so we could start drinking earlier and stayed open later than 5pm. - We found the room to be overall quite clean and the cleaners to be very lovely. - The markets were lovely that came into the resort but so expensive! Items were about £60 upwards! - We got a couples massage on the beach (not the hotel’s company) but just behind the adults only beach section and it was incredible! We paid 40 dollars each for a full body massage for an hour. It was incredible and the sound of the waves just made the whole massage as a whole. Would definitely recommend if you go here. Con’s: - The worst thing about this hotel is the booking system for the restaurants. To get a table or one at a good time, you have to stay up until 12am or set an alarm for when the app refreshes. We managed to get into all restaurants multiple times over our 2 weeks but my partner did stay up multiple times to get a table. We kept checking for cancellations and we got a couple but this was always at very late times which we ended up cancelling as we would have missed the show. - The main buffet was average. We ate pasta and pizza when we were there as the meat looked disgusting. The pizza took a really long time to come out as everyone got slices so it would come out of the oven and be gone within 2 minutes. - The Mexican buffet. We ate here once and it was disgusting. The food was dry and hard and tasted horrendous. We were so excited to have tacos and burritos etc but these were the worst ones we have ever had! - We found the adult only pool to be really really difficult to get a sunbed at. We managed a couple of days but really struggled apart from that. - The shop on sight was so expensive. We bought two sharing bags of crisps which cost us £16 on a deal. A Kit Kat bar cost my partner £4. Suncream cost over £30 a bottle which would cost £6 at home, we couldn’t believe it. We bought some gifts from this shop due to it being cheaper than the market that comes into the resort but it cost us £52 for 4 shot glasses and 2 small trinket boxes (can fit 3 rings in). - The Brazilian restaurant (the one you have to book) was very rushed. We and multiple other people we spoke to felt they were running round giving everyone the meat as fast as possible so we would all get out before the next people came. We also felt they didn’t give a lot of meat to us. - The sea was very rocky so we couldn’t go in which didn’t bother me and my partner as we hate the sea but I know this is not nice for people who do enjoy the sea. We even tried with water shoes on but you couldn’t get past the rocks without falling over. We did a day out at XPLOR and it was incredible so definitely recommend if you go to this hotel. It was only 20 minutes away. Our favourite day of the whole holiday. Overall we found this hotel to be very good for how much we paid for 2 weeks. There are definitely improvements to be made as there are with every hotel but we are glad we chose this hotel.

This was our 8th time coming to Sandos Eco Resort, We absolutely love this resort and everything it offers. From the amazing wildlife the abundant activities and the incredible shows, Most of all the staff here. The staff here truly make our stays wonderful from the very first time we came to this resort and everytime since. I'd like to give a huge shout out to those staff members cause without them I dont think we would've bought into our membership. First off JONATHAN from the Mexican buffet is one of the best people we have meet at sandos. He served us at our wedding we had at sandos and we look forward to coming down to visit him as much as we can. KARLA from the adults only pool restaurant. KARLA from concierge favorite person to see in the morning in the lobby when we go for our coffee. ISABELLA from royal elite is amazing always goes above and beyond for us and we are do grateful for her. YASMIN the duty manager is a real Gem always helpful and positive we are thankful for her and her kindness. LUISANO from LA Riviera is by far a Favorite of ours he is incredible at his job always makes are dinning experience amazing. The Steak house one of my favorite restaurants and the staff are amazing I'd like to personally thank ALESSANDRO and GABRIEL and BARBARA food brought us there but these 3 kept us coming back over and over Thank you to all of you. We appreciate you and all you do for us so much. We can't wait to come see all of you again soon.

Overall I highly recommend this resort . Clean rooms. Food & drinks were very acceptable. Lots of fun activites for the children and teenagers. Very big resort, be prepared to walk a lot. The biggest downfall was the ocean. Full of rocks, you would need water shoes and the restaurant reseravation system can be discouraging

Amazing hotel, brilliant customer service especially Antonia in the restaurant, she couldn’t do anymore for us, so helpful
