Sandos Playacar

My husband and I spent 2 wonderful weeks at Sandos Playacar. February 17-March 3 Check in was a breeze because we got in at 9:30 in the evening. The man who checked us in ( Luiz ) was very cold and unfriendly….not a very good first impression. Avoid him if you can. Laura on the other hand was lovely and very helpful with any questions or concerns we had. Make sure you get the hotel app as soon as you arrive. Calling the front desk is a nighmare but any requests through the app are taken care of very quickly. I made our dinner reservations through the app, keep checking daily for availability. Food- We ate at the Brazilian, French and Italian. The Italian was our favourite, it was my birthday as well and they made it extra special. The buffet food was always really good and plentiful. Rooms- We did change rooms for a top floor pool view. Room 1438. A lot of stair climbing though….we got our steps in for sure. We were in the adult section, rooms are very tired looking but the bed was comfortable . I always bring my own blow dryer as the hotel ones are crap. Beach- this is why we always come back to Playacar. This beach is wide and long and the water has a nice sandy bottom, no rocks. We had fantastic water to play in for 12 days. The sargassum was terrible the last two. We used to vacation in May but had to come earlier to miss the heavy sargassum and humidity. Resort is large and very beautiful. I can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely phenomenal experience. Carlos from the Iztapalapa Bar was around all the time and brought a lot of awesome drinks and amazing service! We had a larger group and he was always happy and very welcoming!
