Imelda festival breakfast is very nice and helpful

We have been coming to Sandos for many years and we love it here!! It’s like visiting family that you haven’t seen in a while. After our dinners, our go to place is Avenue Bar. Bartenders Jose and Miriam are the best! Their cocktails never disappoint!!

I wanted to rate 31/2.. Lots of pros and several cons. Hugh resort.. families are not allowed in any of the rooms close to the beach.. they are only allowed in the haciendas ( which are wonderful rooms that share a pool and hot tub between .6 units. They also get access to the premier rooms and breakfast at the beach. The remainder of the families are in the riviera rooms .. they seem to be almost a 1/4 mile from the beach! They have access to a lot of pools and 2 bars..But if you don’t catch a large golf cart it is a very long walk to the entertainment and main buffet. I averaged over 17000 steps a day! From the haciendas it was a 3500 step round trip to The beach. We requested a joined room on our booking in September 2025 and it was not available when we checked in. They shouldn’t accept the booking if they can’t fulfill it! And we had 4 rooms in total. Loved the grounds, Wild life . (including monkeys) the use of the bikes for free! (Bring a lock) and my favourite show was Elvis! By far, There was plenty of lounge chairs although very low for seniors.. and the beach is beautiful snd drink service on the beach was great ! Especially Karla! She was our favourite! My biggest complaint was the picking up of the sargassum along the shore. It absolutely ruined my pleasure of swimming in the ocean. I understand it is an environmental challenge .. but once it hits the shore it should be picked up! 4 men with rakes once a day is NOT enough. This has been a problem for the past seven years and is absolutely disgusting. Also be aware the gated community is at minimum a 30 minute walk to 5th Avenue or a 10 minute walk to a large market . I won’t go back in the late winter February-March because of the sargassum. I still love the Mayan area though!

The main buffet is absolutely amazing. Rigo was extremely courteous and friendly. Thanks for everything Rigo!

I was very happy with my experience at Sandos Playacar Buffet. Rigo was a great waiter he was very attentive to our many requests. When I will come back to eat at this Buffet he's the waiter who I will want to have.
