Sao Miguel Park Hotel

Hotel has recently been renovated. The rooms are freshly painted with very modern decor. Wonderful lighting! TV, small refrigerator with safety deposit box. Balcony with a table and two chairs. Lots of room. Breakfast buffet has five different stations with many food options. Dinner is available also at the bar with excellent prices. The front desk staff will answer every question you have and will provide ideas of things to do. They also provided us with an umbrella to use during our stay. They will bring pool towels, kettle, cups and saucers to your room. Special thanks to Fatima, Nuno, Ahonso and Raphaela . They made restaurant reservations for us along with photocopying our trip itinerary. Indoor and outdoor pool. Lots of comfy areas to socialize. Live music on Saturdays at the bar. Walking distance to the shopping mall and Gardens. Just 10 minutes to get down to the Seaside promenade.

We booked this hotel from 23rd Sept-26th September through E DREAMS after our extensive travels. A day or two before our departure it was all over the news, that Acores was going to be hit by a hurricane and most flights would be cancelled. After realizing it was smack on the dates we were suppose to be there and travelling back to catch connecting long haul flights, we had to make the dificult decision of cancelling our trip there, which we were so looking forward to! Immediately giving them about 2 days notification we contacted both E DREAMS and the hotel to cancel our hotel reservation and due to the circumstances get a refund as we could not control the weather. We recieved a response from both. E DREAMS said we needed to ask the hotel for a refund. The hotel responded that since the booking was done via E DREAMS they would have to refund us. They kept passing the buck to fustrate us in order for us to drop it, which they suceeded..... Needless to say it was a stale mate and we got no refund! We were disheartened to have had to cancel our trip and to make matters worse, loose our full payment to the hotel as well as our flight tickets. We are planning to send a huge group of over 50 people, to Acores next year, but never again will we use this hotel. Due to their greed they will be loosing out on alot of good business. It is dispicable that money is so much more important than customer care. They should be ashamed of themselves!!!

This hotel is in need of a refresh worn out furniture no ice or coffee machines. that being said beds were good breakfast had enough choices and staff tried to be helpful It was a pain to go to the bar for ice and water bottles were sold at the bar If you were able to walk most restaurants and the historic center were close. Hotel kept clean and is not a terrible place to stay

Following a cancelled flight I was put up in this hotel where I felt like a second class citizen. At a time when all I wanted was to be on my way home, I would have appreciated welcoming faces and a comforting room. The staff were polite but quick to point out what needed to be paid for. There was no water or courtesy tray in the room for a tea or coffee and the only way to get a drink was to pay the expensive prices at the bar. My room had very few plugs and none near the bed for charging the phone. However the room was quiet and the hotel is ideally situated with many facilities. I didn’t choose to stay in this hotel and wouldn’t in the future.

Located in a quiet area, this hotel is graded as being 4 stars, probably because it has two swimming pools (one inside and another outside), a gym, a sauna, a large restaurant. However, there are some negative points one would not expect from a 4 star hotel. For example, while we were there one of the elevators was out-of-order, causing delays when being used; the gym was also closed for repairs; the lights in the room did not work (it got fixed by an employee); there was a rip in the room curtain; the carpet had several stains of spillage on it; the napkin at the dinner table had a hole in it; the safe was too small to store things in it. The staff was courteous. The breakfast buffet was just ok and could offer more options.
