I never write reviews but this vacation was such a waste of time and money I have to. Immediately upon arrival we knew we were in for a LONG vacation. Before I begin I need to state that we are a 28 year old couple who attended this hotel as just a relaxing trip (we were not looking for a party). We have concluded that we will never return to the DR or this hotel. The MAIN issue being how absolutely rude everyone in this hotel is to non-Spanish speaking tourists. 1. We waited in line to check in for about 20 mins being ignored by everyone (who were not busy). Thankfully, a spanish speaking gentlemen got upset with then for not helping us to which they FINALLY decided to check us in. The check in process probably took about 30 minutes of absolute nothing but waiting for him to “get the wristband” all while im watching him have a full on conversation with coworkers. He finally decides to come back and ask if we want to upgrade for an additional cost which I declined. He then follows that up with we have been provided a “free” upgrade to the exact building he was trying to get us to pay for. Which by the way we noticed lated on that the original building he was telling us we were “staying” at was actually closed for renovation. He then basically ushers us off with no check in-briefing, no “have a great stay” nothing. We were not told what the hotel has to offer, timing for buffet, shows, NOTHING. 2. After check in, we had to wait in a sea of people for the shuttle to bring us to the hotel. This itself took about 20 minutes of no one trying to help us and us having to just practically throw ourselves onto a random shuttle. 3. We get to our “upgraded” room which was clean and renovated. However, we noticed that the TV remote was not connected to our tv (it was a different company than the TV) so we called reception and kindly requested someone take a look. Lets just say we called 3 times and we never ended up watching tv (we were totally ignored). 4. The pool area looks like a full in motel. It’s ugly, boring, small, and has no luxury feeling to it. They have almost no pool entertainment and if they do it’s very minimal and lazy. 5. We had to wait in line to access the buffet for minimum 30mins every night. Due to everyone from the other hotels being allowed to attend that buffet the capacity is too large leaving you to wait in long lines. After you finally get in, be prepared to not be served and have to basically beg for drinks and attention from a server. While also weaving your way through hundreds of people trying to get food 6. The staff is INCREDIBLY rude to the point where my husband and I just started laughing at scenarios because it was getting so ridiculously common. Not a single smile, not a single “thank you” or “you’re welcome”. We booked the Mexican restaurant and the server made us feel like the biggest burden and was not helpful at all. He quite literally asked us “what do you want? come on”. I genuinely couldn’t believe it how negatively english speaking tourists are viewed in this hotel. 7. This next topic has NEVER been an issue for me until they made it. They know minimal-to-no English. Which is fine in the sense of im in their country and I am okay with learning and adapting to them. However, they are extremely disrespectful and will not try to get you to understand them. They will walk away or ignore you. I started having google translate open just so I could have my questions answered. 8. The entertainment overall is a joke. They will try to charge you extra $ in USD to attend larger shows. The shows that they offer in the village are terrible and their speakers are totally busted it hurts your ears. 9. Check out was just as had as check in, if not WORSE. We called reception to request a shuttle for our suitcases. He stated it will take max 5 mins. Well 20 minutes and 3 shuttles passing by us, ignoring us, later we made it to check out. I was greeted by the reception lady saying “room #, name” not even a hello or smile. She checks us out and hands me a small paper and says “go to the bellboy” I ask her “what do i do with this?” she respond “just go. NEXT”. That was the cherry on top to the worst vacation ever. She did not even care enough to smile and ask us how our stay went, or to even wish us safe travels. NOTHING. This is honestly a summed up version of this vacay and I feel like I need a vacay from this vacay. Please save your money and time and dont go here.
Great hotel, our room was close by the lobby the noise usually dies down by 11pm. Some might find it a nuisance but it was fine. Service at la Isla food truck was horrible. I witnessed staff arguing with each other and storming off letting us there in limbo waiting for food. But my best highlight was eating at NOMAD Restaurant. Service there was immensely amazing. Katheryn from Flame apparently was there helping out for the night but her service was amazing. Miguel from Nomad as well gave us exceptional service, both took their time with us, truly appreciated it. (If your planning on booking take allot of OFF bug spray or you’ll be eaten alive )
Dear corporate staff in charge. During July of 2026 my family of 11 members and I stayed in your resort (Bahia Principe ,Punta Cana. We paid for the accommodation in advance, but , upon arrival , the front desk agent( female agent) was unprofessional, rude, and treated us unfairly. 1- Charged extra fees for no reason. 2- Assigned rooms in different buildings 3- Two members were placed in a disable access room 4- Made the check in process painful. The staff at the pool were also rude. At the bar , their attention is more focused towards white clients. Many times, I was at the bar before others , when the barman attends to Europeans and white. The fast-food restaurant by the pool provides horrible services. As I asked the female behind the counter that my number was called out for pick up, she replied,’’ I have two hands, wait’’. I had to bite my tongue and walk I believe the service delivered by your company was unsatisfactory, and below the standard I would expect. I had the occasion to stay as RIU PALACE. Honestly, I prefer Riu Palace in Punta Cana, customer service exceeded my expectations. Not to ignore the good experience, other staff were pleasant and curious. Overall, I would say that 4 out 10 staff in your resort were professional and did their job as expected. The question is , would I recommend or go back to Bahia Principe ,Punta Cana? My response is more likely NO. .
Anthony and Deylin in entertainment at the pool are really friendly and are always smiling. They are good hairdressers too! 🤣
Very disappointing experience. The biggest problem was the staff—most employees were rude, dismissive, or acted as though guests were inconveniencing them, especially the train drivers (one even yelling at my wife). Communication was also difficult due to the limited English spoken by many staff members. Reception and concierge service was painfully slow, and getting help often required excessive waiting. The à la carte restaurants were good, but the buffet food and drinks were poor overall. To make matters worse, most buffet items were not labeled, forcing guests to guess what they were eating or skip them entirely. There are far better all-inclusive resorts for the price. I would not return.
