Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa

Very relaxing. Beautiful resort. Just a little language barrier but being so new it will get better. The food was good. Could it be better yes could it be worse yes but overall pretty good. There is a couple of the restaurant that have excellent food so depends on what you are looking for.

My husband & I stayed at the resort for 9 days for our honeymoon! We stayed in the Dreams Preferred Club, and had the pleasure of having Esterbin as our butler. Esterbin went above and beyond to help us feel right at home! Every morning we’d get the resorts scheduled events, he’d ask about our plans for the day, and ask about how our experience was going. He was so kind to even locate an item that wasn’t available in the resort for us! Our room was on the second floor partial view of the ocean and beach! Every morning housekeeping and mini bar service made sure to take care of us! We requested extra water and towels every time, and they had no problem fulfilling our requests! The food was absolutely delicious here! Wide variety of food selections. Especially the team who works at the Windows restaurant (Eric, Manuel, Eleizer, Michael) which is the Dreams preferred club restaurant, they took amazing care of us for all of meals we had here! Huge shoutout to the bartenders Rosaina, and Luciana because they took excellent care of us with all of the delicious cocktails they made for us! The pool, and Swim up bar were also such a fun experience! The atmosphere was great everyday! My absolute favorite thing was the coco/ Dolce coffee shops mostly because I love all desserts and coffee! I did notice they had special case for gluten free pastries! I can’t forget to mention the entertainment team, and ALL of the performers because rain or shine they made it work to give us their best performances! My husband was right don’t trust forecast predictions because some days it rained for 20 minutes or 2 hours, yet the sun came right back! Very humid every day so I’d recommend light layers of clothing! Also don’t forget sunscreen we went through 3 bottles of it. I will 100% be recommending this resort to all of my family, friends, colleagues! Although it’s an hour drive from the hotel I really loved the atmosphere of privacy, quietness, and hospitality from the entire staff. We can’t wait to go back, and of course request our butler Esterbin!

Nice hotel, pool lovely, Nightly entertainment is very late for young children starting at 9;30. Not all kids watch movies. When it rains it was hard to find activites for kids. all we found were a few toys in lobby and kids zone watching a movie, entertainment area watching a movie. Maybe a kids zone with actual toys to play with family would be appreciated. It would be great if there were recycling bins for water bottles. picking up around pool more often. A bin with pool toys and balls for the kids around the pool and A bin by the beach with sand toys would be nice. We were 12 in the family. 2 arrived a few days early. At check-in I was told 65$ a day for ocean view. Brother paid 100$ total. Niece no extra charge. Seems silly to try and make more money when the resort was not full. We had no trouble getting to restaurants. NO reservations needed for all of us. Loved the bar with the big TV for sports. Some shows were amazing magic and dance. Live music entertainment outside when not raining was fantastic. Entertainment staff lovely. we would go again. Beach was to hazardous but a short walk to the cove was amazing.
