Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa

I stayed here with my family and it was our first all inclusive resort and fort visit to the DR. We didn't know what to expect but Secrets Cap Cana exceeded our expectations. The part that stood out was the friendliness of the staff. Everyone we encountered was very kind and happy all the time. Our concierge, Jenfry de Jesus (aka MJ), really made the experience for us. He was responsive to our questions and made our stay feel comfortable. I felt very taken care of. Jenfry is the best!

Where do I even start. I usually don’t post such an in-depth review but feel the need to do so. My daughter and I were looking for an all-inclusive mother and daughter long weekend getaway. We settled on this resort. When we arrived, we were offered an upgrade to the preferred level for an additional $800. We were told we would get a $200 resort credit (specifics we’re not given that this resort credit was only $40 towards the spa, $40 towards a beach dinner and $10 towards a bottle of wine per person). We were also told that we would have a private butler and access to private restaurants and a private beach and a private pool. notably, nobody ever asked us at the pool whether we were even preferred guests. They only had a terrace level room, when we arrived even though we were paying for a balcony so we had to spend one night in the Terrace level before having to move to the upper level for the remaining three nights. A little inconvenience, but it was OK. After moving to the preferred level, we waited about 20 minutes in the lobby for our butler to arrive to tour us and show us to our room He never did. Another butler took pity on us since it had been 10 hours since we had eaten, we were traveling all day, and shuttle us to a restaurant. We were told that our Butler would come meet us at the restaurant. 45 minutes later, he never came. Thus, we wandered around and found our building and made our way to our room. It had now been over an hour since we arrived and we did not even have our bags in our room when we got there. I called the front desk about our bags and never seeing our butler and was told that he Would come up. We finally met him for the first time we gave him her contact information. And he told us that tomorrow he would bring us our keys for the new room when it was ready. The next day, he texted us in the morning. We told him we were where we were sitting by the pool, he brought us our keys and that’s the last time we saw him. I will note that he was very helpful and getting some medication over-the-counter for us that night, but that was the last time we ever received any type of extra service or attention that we expected from a “butler”. Throughout or stay, we saw numerous other butlers and heard from other guests about their butlers meeting them at breakfast, helping them with reservations, asking them about their day helping them with activities, etc., etc. All we got was a text message every morning with a copy of the activities. That was it. I am really still not sure what we paid for with these upgraded preferred level. the night before we left I went to talk to the managers because I was really disappointed in the level of attention we received as opposed to what I was seeing and hearing from numerous other guests. I don’t know if this butler is just young or inexperienced, but I needed to bring it to their attention. There was no manager so I was out in touch with a supervisor. He asked us what we wanted done. I said he needs to learn from his peers about what service looks like. He then again asked us what we wanted done. As we didn’t receive the level of service from the preferred level or ability to use the resort credit we suggested maybe some type of refund. We never heard from them. We went back the next morning to check out and talk to the manager. He never came out. Only the supervisor from the night before, who said he wrote a report and told us sorry we cannot give you any refund. We are sorry this happened. Absolutely nothing —sorry was really not going to do it here. Why did you ask us what we wanted done if all you were going to do was offer an apology.? That made absolutely zero sense. This was horrible customer service —they made nothing right nor did they even attempt to make anything right Hyatt has now lost a customer for life. I will however, say that the activities people are amazing Rihanna, Barbie, ice cube, Scooby Doo, they are all wonderful and we had a great time doing many of the activities. Again, this was not part of the preferred, but came with the all-inclusive. Kudos to them. The food is subpar. However, the Italian restaurant was the best place to eat although it did take them several attempts to get the actual order correct.

We had an excellent stay at this resort! The service was outstanding from beginning to end. Our room was spotless, very comfortable, and impeccably clean. The food was absolutely delicious, and the entertainment team was fantastic—they kept the atmosphere fun and lively every day. A special thank you to Fernando, our waiter at the French restaurant Bordeaux. He was friendly, attentive, and provided exceptional service throughout our dining experience. The entertainment staff—Rihanna, Ice Cube (Blue Jays), Diamond, and John Cena—were absolutely amazing! They were energetic, fun, and truly made our vacation unforgettable. A special thank you to Cesar, the pool server, for his outstanding service and friendly attitude. We would also like to recognize Cristian, the pool bartender. He was extremely attentive, always welcoming, and made sure everyone was well taken care of. A huge thank you to our concierge, Modesto. Wow! He went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. His kindness, professionalism, and attention to every detail truly made a difference. He is an incredible asset to this resort. The drinks were excellent, and the entire resort was exceptionally clean. We highly recommend this resort and can't wait to come back!

This hotel is clean and well maintained, staff are extremely attentive, there is plenty of choice for food and drink and the setting is perfect.

We returned to Secrets Cap Cana to celebrate my wife’s retirement after 33 years in public school. We previously stayed here in November 2025 for our 25th anniversary, and once again the experience was outstanding. Our butler Alexis Astacio went above and beyond every day. At the pool, Esperanza was wonderful, and Indira (“SoSweet”) made our time there even better with her kindness and professionalism. Oriana at check‑in was excellent. At Seaside Restaurant, Eddy Murphy provided outstanding service, and Jesus at the Mexican restaurant was exceptional as well. The staff truly made our stay unforgettable.
