Whala!Bavaro

We stayed at this property for 7 days. Overall not a bad experience but it is a budget friendly hotel rather than a resort. It is not beach front. Beach is across the street through a different hotel. ( it is very close so not a big deal) The beach area designated for this hotel is not very big and therefore gets crowded. The beach bar available for Whala Bavaro hotel guests was constantly surrounded by a bad "dump" smell so we tried to avoid it. The room was OK even though the bathroom, especially the shower area was dated and we kept having issues with the toilet. It kept clogging.

We stayed 7 nights. After the first day, our experience was very good — enjoyable atmosphere, good entertainment, and friendly, helpful staff. However, the first 24 hours were disappointing due to a defective room: extremely noisy AC with black debris falling, non-functioning controls and curtains, and a balcony door that would not close (leaving a gap). Multiple trips to the front desk were needed, and we were asked to wait in the room for repairs. The issue was only resolved the next evening when we were moved. Suggestion to management: Improve pre-check-in inspection and respond faster with room changes when major issues arise.

i rent a 4 stars not a 1 stars ! bathroom very ugly and a window in the shower no telephone to call the main entrance dont go there its not like the pictures

It was our first time visiting Dominican Republic. The line ups at the airport was disorganized. The ride to the resort was scary. We checked in and the staff there were wonderful. Though, make sure they don't charge you for the safe. On their website they say it's free. Junior Esmerlin was very accommodating. Or room was great. We were facing the street. All we heard was traffic in the morning. The resort was easy to get around. Everyone was friendly. Gloria(bartender) was a delight as of Santos, Aim, Luis & Antonio. The Animation Team were fun. Good job to Angel, Juan, Ross & Jon. They made our day. We were always entertained. The shows were okay. The food was wonderful & tasty. We kinda disappointed with the lack of lounges at the beach. It was a small shared area with the sister hotel. Overall we had fun.

The place needs a lot will I go back no. That will all come later when I get home I just wanted to say that the front desk manager Ernesto is amazing he helped us out when our friends hand not arrived for 3 days . We went to him he welcomed us into his office were he helped to the best he could do for our friends to have a room on the same floor and just a few doors down from us he's always for a smile and is ready to greet you with a smile and is always willing to help you So I you do come here just say hi to him and we would like to thank him so much for what he did for us Thanks Ernesto
