Whala!Bavaro

I really enjoyed my stay at Whala! Bavaro. The beach is very close, the staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was clean and cleaned every day. The food was tasty with a good variety of options. I had a problem with the toilet flush, but after I reported it, it was fixed within 10 minutes. I was very impressed with the quick service. I would happily stay here again!

The water for bathing and brushing your teeth is salty—I imagine it comes from the sea; there was a leak from the bathroom light fixture, and the bathroom walls were rusty and in poor condition. And a high level of noise. and smell bad. Rate less than a Zero O and no money back.

This is my 7th stay at this hotel. The staff is first rate: the receptionists, waiters/waitresses, cooks, housekeepers. They are professional and courteous. The rooms are spacious and clean. I particularly love the food selections, each dinner buffet represents a different country. I find the price to be very reasonable considering it’s an all-inclusive resort. I will submit another review with the names of the employees that stood out.

How this hotel is rated 4 star is amazing, the 1st room they gave us, the toilet did not work and the balcony door would not lock properly, in fairness they changed our room the next day when we complained, on the 2nd day there were no soft drinks at the pool bar for half the day, the food is repetitive but expected on all inclusive, not catered towards English tourists but its not in Europe so maybe to be expected, the pool at the bar had a grill missing in the bottom of the pool, lots of tiles missing and also jad a wire hanging in the pool from one of the lights, the entertainment was good, day and night though, the beach was full of seaweed every day apart from 1 day it was cleaned, this is not the hotels fault tbf, the street the hotel is on is does not reflect the 4 star rating, such a shame as the staff at the hotel are amazing, really friendly and will do anything for you, hotel needs rejuvenating.

This hotel is in my opinion not 4 star, only 2 star at a push. Location is on a very dated damaged road, with flooding and many pot holes and cracked pavements. Hotel rooms are very dated and damaged. We stayed in the deluxe and it had wooden side boards in the bathroom and wardrobe that looked like it had been put together in a school woodwork lesson from wood found outside. The restaurants had food left out for hours, with many insects hovering around, not covered at any time. Limited choices for drinks and snacks. Pools has an awful scum layer on top from suntan lotion and human oils as only cleaned once a week, having salt in it not chlorine. Sun beds and bedrooms beds not the same as pictures, very dated and broken, with mites or bedbugs as was bitten everytime we layed on them. Entertainment was usual holiday entertainment can not fault it and the water ballet was outstanding. Sadly the main entertainment staff member 'John' did not like the English, discriminated towards all English we met. The serving staff were the only amazing thing here, they work extremely hard and were very kind and polite. Only thing that made our holiday bearable.
