Hotel Riu Baobab Ponto Perfect 60th Birthday Celebration in Africa 1058678632 Ive just returned from this wonder hotel after visiting to celebrate my wife’s 60th Birthday in April . The staff are an absolute credit to this hotel for their hard work and welcoming words to all they meet so thank you all . The Hotel itself is beautiful and the gardens are a joy to see full of greenery and wonderful Birds . The Hotel has 3 outdoor pools plus a slide pool area but we only used the long pool and the adult only swim up bar which suited our needs the other pool was where all the games took place . The food was lovely and plentiful with a wide variety of everything to cover in my eyes every one’s needs . Our Room was amazing as Rui upgraded us to a swim up room which truly was a wonderful thing to do for us . The room its self was lovely and big with your normal tea and coffee facilities , iron, free safe , Tv , optics , fridge full of free soft and alcohol drinks , large bed , double sink ,, large shower just perfect to be honest . The entertainment team work so hard and put on some good shows but the highlight for was the acrobat act which was incredible . There was plenty of sun-beds around the pool and the Beach . The hotel consisted of about 50% French and the other 50% from Uk and all over Europe and the USA so great vibe in my eyes . I cant say a bad word about this hotel but the sea need some serious attention from someone . Get that sorted and this place is perfect for a sunshine break . We did a Safari tour well we were there and well worth a visit and we did a traditional Senegal night in the bush which was brilliant and a great experience . Please give Senegal a go you will struggle to find a better and more welcoming hote

From arrival to departure I cannot really fault this hotel. Staff professional and courteous at all times. Food quality and choice ideal for my requirements. Restaurant staff attentive and helpful, special mention for Helena. Bar staff attentive with a sense of humour, special mention for Adriano in Safari bar. Room spacious with a great sea view, immaculately cleaned with towels and sheets changed when required. Didn’t frequent the pool areas and only used the beach to relax and enjoy the weather. Beach cleaners work really hard to remove rubbish washed up on the beach and do a great job. Unfortunately too many people dump their cigarette ends on the beach and make a mess. My only negative is people using the buffet area wearing vests, not particularly hygienic in a hot country when people are reaching across the food wearing a vest. In closing..I loved my stay.

This was my fourth time I have stayed at a Riu in four different countries, and once again it met my expectations. I used their app to request extra blankets and shower gel and had them delivered to the room in a very timely manner. Only downside I found was the tiles in the pool were coming free and every day a life guide would go round the pool and pick the tiles up that customers had left on the side of the pool and put them in the bin. These missing tiles did raise concerns with me as to if people could cut their feet on the missing sections.

My wife and I spent the last two weeks at this hotel and we had a wonderful time. Firstly, you need to remember where it is and importantly, how much it costs, there were several guests comparing it to their holidays in the Maldives?!? In terms of value for money, the food was varied and plentyful, the drinks were decent, the room was big and the setting was beautiful, but what really made the holiday, was the people working there, who were outstanding, from the pool bar to the lobby bar to the spa, without fail, every person there truly wanted to help. We will definitely be back and hopefully they will re tile the pool and fire the last tiler. And if you are wondering about the title, if you walk a little further past the upturned boat, you will find two sellers, John in particular is a most wonderful person with the biggest heart, he truly embodies the no stress approach and I would encourage you to go to him for any souvenirs.
