Four Seasons Resort Seychelles

My boys and I stayed at the Four Seasons Mahe Seychelles for 5 nights in the 2 BR Hilltop Villa and I must say that this was the nicest property that I have ever stayed at. The views from the villa were nothing short of spectacular. We looked out over the beautifully white sandy beach, turquoise waters and mountainous islands in the distance. As part of our villa experience, we were assigned Jim who anticipated every need we might possess. He was always around while still giving us our privacy. He drove us everywhere on the property whenever we asked and made all of our dinner and excursion reservations and, even if we were initially unable to get a reservation that we wanted (because I asked for it so late), Jim worked his magic and always managed to get us in. He was professional and always so polite and such a hard worker. He made our stay immeasurably better- thanks Jim! As part of our experience, we had an air conditioned dining room and family room where we could take meals or watch movies. We also had a huge pool, hot tub, spacious A/C bedrooms and bathrooms which had every amenity you’d want. It was so relaxing just hanging out on a chaise lounge on our deck and looking at the stunning view. We also spent time at the beach which was gorgeous- and the staff was so accommodating and moved our chaise lounges wherever we wanted them and were always available to take whatever food/drink order we asked for. There was a huge pool which we used to just hang out in or for me to do laps. Lots of free water sports- the highlight was the snorkeling right off our beach that had the most amazing colored fish which hung out around the corals- as well as table tennis, an oversized chess set, basketball, soccer, volleyball, etc. The food was terrific with plenty of choices for everyone- a great steak place, Japanese, Indian, Asia, etc. The chef, Merbin, made sure that I always had delicious vegetarian options and presented the best dinners and even shared his cooking tips with me! We had everything that we could possibly want and only left the property once to go on a sunset helicopter ride that Jim was able to secure at the last minute. Candidly, we never wanted to leave- a huge thanks to Jim, Merbin and everyone at the Four Seasons Mahe for the best vacation ever!!

The Four Seasons Hotel in the Seychelles is an absolute hidden paradise. The raw beauty is breathtaking, secluded waters wrapping around an isolated corner of the island, with sunsets that energize the soul. Once you’re here, you truly don’t need to leave, everything is right at your fingertips. What makes it truly unforgettable, though, is the team. Thibault and every member ensured flawless, warm service, making these five days special. We’ll keep coming back.

Couldn’t speak more highly about four seasons Seychelles. I ate the best food I have ever eaten in my life. The Asia menu at Zeze is to die for, all the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The waiter Jessica and buggy driver Emmanuel I remember specifically due to their talkative and friendly personality. The beach here is insane, Samuel in recreation was so helpful and knowledgeable with all the sea life and knowledge of the bay. There was so much to do and I am very very upset that I can’t stay there forever. We were allowed to take a last minute kayak out to see the dolphins on our last day which was incredible. We had lunch on the beach most days and you could request pretty much anything you wanted, the staff were always open to dietary changes to food which meant that everyone could eat everything. The views from the ocean villa rooms were insane too. We went for morning walks on the beach and had the whole beach to ourselves, it felt like paradise!!! If there was any slight issue with anything you could contact anyone so quickly using the chat and the problem would be resolved instantly. I could not recommend this resort enough, the hospitality and cleanliness was 10/10 would be the first place I book again.

There are hotels that impress you. And there are hotels that handle the moment when something goes wrong — and impress you even more for it. We had a room issue during our stay. We discovered it had been fully resolved while we were at dinner — no interruption, no awkward visit, no theatre. Just a problem that had quietly disappeared, and a chilled bottle of champagne waiting on our return as a gesture of acknowledgment. That is a particular kind of competence. The kind that requires trust between a team, awareness of where guests are, and the confidence to act without making a moment of it. Behind much of that warmth was James, head of guest relations. He looked after us for the entire stay with a character that is difficult to manufacture — honest, open, genuinely interested. Not the polished friendliness that luxury hotels sometimes mistake for hospitality, but something more real. He is the kind of person who makes a large resort feel like it knows you, and that quality ran through every day we were there. A small story that says everything: Bayern Munich had just beaten Real Madrid 4-3 to reach the Champions League semi-finals — a night my son will not forget in a hurry. Somehow the hotel knew. Nobody asked us anything. But a beautifully decorated cake arrived, Bayern branding and all, completely spontaneous, completely unprompted. Nobody made a fuss about it. It simply appeared. That is the kind of gesture that a child carries home with him, and a parent quietly never forgets. That tone comes from the top, and in this case the top has a name: Nitin, the General Manager. What struck us, speaking with him and others, was how many of the senior team have been with the Four Seasons brand for fifteen, sometimes twenty years. That is not a coincidence — that is a culture that earns loyalty. And loyalty of that kind produces something a new hire simply cannot: an instinct for the guest, built across years of genuine experience. You feel it in the way things are handled before you have to ask. Nitin carries that same depth — professional without being stiff, warm without being performative. His mark is on everything, and James, in many ways, is the human face of the standard Nitin sets. A word on rooms, because the choice matters more here than at most resorts. The villas are built into the hillside, and the hilltop category is where this property truly reveals itself. If you can, book a Serenity villa. The privacy is on another level — you are essentially suspended above the bay with an unobstructed view of the Indian Ocean that greets you from bed, from the pool, from the shower. It is the kind of view that stops you mid-conversation. The walk down to the beach requires some effort, but the buggy service is reliable and after a day or two it simply becomes part of the rhythm. Do not let the hilltop location discourage you — it is precisely what makes these villas extraordinary. If anything, the guests who book beach-level and miss the panorama are the ones who lose out. Now, the beach itself. I have been to Bora Bora, the Maldives, the Amalfi coast. I say this not to brag but to offer context: Petite Anse in April is the most beautiful beach I have seen in my life. The sand is powder white and so fine it barely registers under your feet. The water is the kind of crystal clear that makes the word “turquoise” feel insufficient. And then there is the life inside it — schools of fish moving around you in formation, unhurried, completely indifferent to your presence in the best possible way. You are swimming inside an aquarium that nobody built. Whether other months offer the same I cannot say — April was, simply, extraordinary. The overall atmosphere carries the same quality as everything else here. Attentive but never intrusive. Luxurious without being theatrical. The kind of place that makes effort invisible, which is the hardest trick of all. Four Seasons Seychelles earns its reputation — not through the views alone, which would already be enough, but through the people who choose every day to run it properly.
