We went to this beautiful hotel to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. Just over a call made to make our reservation, the team captured all our words and turned that one night into a night to be remembered. Upon arrival, glass of wine, in the room, wow, nice decor, beautiful gifts and surprisingly at around 4.15pm with a knock on the door, a float basket full of delicacies.. Thank you so much Hilton Northolme team for this treat, will always remember you.... Danny and Doreen

I rarely write negative reviews, but our stay at Hilton Northolme over New Year’s was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had. We booked five nights using Hilton points and paid €500 in advance to upgrade to a Deluxe Oceanfront Villa. At check-in, we were told we had been “upgraded” due to Hilton Gold status, despite already having paid for an upgrade. We were placed in Villa 224, which turned out to be a standard villa and one of the furthest from the resort. The room was extremely hot despite the AC running constantly and had a strong sewage/mold smell. That first night, the heat made the room an open invitation for bugs—we were bitten by several mosquitoes overnight, even inside the mosquito net, for the two nights we were in the room. The next morning, the front desk agent was dismissive and raised her voice, telling us to “go to the beach” while engineering looked into it and housekeeping did a deep clean. Housekeeping left a lemon-scented diffuser to mask the smell, then removed it after an hour to use it in another room. Later that night, the bathroom became infested with drain flies coming out of the tub and sinks. We were told the resort was full and asked to tolerate another night. Engineering sprayed the room with RAID and left us a fan. The following morning, the bathroom was covered in dead bugs, and the AC failed completely, leaking dirty water onto our clothes. At that point we were upgraded to full board as compensation. We then lost an entire day waiting to be moved—being told repeatedly that the new villa would be ready “in another hour” from noon until 5:30 PM. When we were finally moved to Villa 101, it was clearly labeled “Deluxe Oceanfront Villa,” making it obvious that we had not received the room we paid for initially. Management blamed a “reservation glitch” and after talking in circles they eventually refunded the €500 upgrade. Food was another disappointment: wildly inconsistent and often poor. Breakfast buffets were uncovered with flies on the fruit, and I personally watched a bird land on the fruit display, eat from it, and fly off with a slice of melon—no staff intervened. Lunches were low quality, and the New Year’s gala and Creole buffet were overpriced and largely inedible. Mosquitoes were rampant across the property. Shortly after leaving Seychelles, my wife was diagnosed with chikungunya, which ended the remainder of our trip and she is still recovering. Most staff were kind, but the property itself is poorly maintained and mismanaged. After leaving, 15,000 hilton points were offered as compensation was offered afterward, but I would have much preferred a smooth stay after 2 days of travel from Canada and not leaving with my wife having catastrophic health issues that ended our vacation. I would never return to this hotel or recommend it to anyone.
