This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had, largely due to poor management, shockingly inattentive staff, and an environment that made rest impossible. Our room was seemingly located directly next to an extremely loud street party that took place every single night, often lasting late into the evening. The noise was relentless and seemed to get louder as the evening progressed. The hotel was already aware of this when this was raised, but no warning was given at booking, check-in or at any point during our stay. No effort was made to relocate us or compensate for the experience that was keeping my baby awake well into the night. Service throughout the hotel was consistently slow and disorganized. We waited over an hour just to get a drink on more than one occasion, and even the most basic requests required repeated follow-ups, excessive patience on our part, and sheer incompetence on theirs. Staff regularly provided incorrect information, only for it to be contradicted by the very next person we spoke to. Room service menus were out of date with every other meal not available. On the 5th night we were informed they couldn’t clean baby bottles due to lack of proper equipment, not realising they had already been cleaning them without issue or “equipment” for 4 nights prior. There was no consistency, no accountability, and absolutely no attention to detail. On multiple occasions, staff members were literally asleep or completely disengaged while on duty (the porters). The experience was particularly bad for families and babies. Simple, essential needs, such as getting milk or having milk bottles cleaned took an unreasonable amount of time or were completely forgotten. Requests from housekeeping such as an extra towel or toilet paper were ignored or forgotten. Combined with the nightly noise, this made traveling with an infant stressful and exhausting - definitely anything but relaxing. The lack of urgency or care made it abundantly clear that families are not a priority here and barely even an afterthought. Napkins are polyester, the food is subpar, the breakfast selection is small. Oh, and the WiFi is slow and laggy to boot. Worse still, we had an outright ableist interaction with two particular staff members (Ibrahim and Abdul) being rude, combative, and displaying a complete lack of decency, awareness or accommodation. When feedback was raised, staff were dismissive, uninterested in listening, and literally shrugged. It was galling to see such blatant ableism and cavalier unprofessionalism. Overall, this hotel is badly managed, poorly staffed, and not worth the stress. Facilities and the overall vibe aren’t in keeping with its 5 star counterparts. It doesn’t even have a private beach, as most of its counterparts do, with a road in between the hotel and the public beach. I have no idea how the hotel had racked up good reviews before, we would strongly advise families, parents with babies, or anyone expecting basic professionalism and care to stay elsewhere. What good can I say? I have to admit their margaritas were very tasty - kudos to Kevin and the gecko bar staff. Davis was a shining example and was always kind and competent and professional. Linyondra and Andrew were professional and friendly throughout. This hotel is NOT five stars.

Accommodation: I really liked the rooms. Some would suggest they are a bit tired and outdated. I found my room spacious, much larger than other hotel rooms. It is also comfortable, clean and functional. Plus, it had a fabulous balcony. Food: Hotel has three restaurants, all good. I liked the “Asian” place near the pool. Really good fresh food. Pool: I used it once as I prefer the ocean. However, the pool is good, designed like a river. However, half into our stay, albeit unexpectedly, it went into renovation, damaging whole feel of holiday of the place. Make sure that during your stay there will be no repairs/ construction. I must admit that the Management has been understanding and provided people with the benefits and additional beds on the beach, trying to compensate for the inconvenience. Beach: To me this is the most important. The beach is, undoubtedly, one of the best beached on the island of Mahe. The hotel located right on the spot, perfect. The beach is public, as many others on the island, which was a concern at first. However, Savoy provided enough sun lounges for the guests to feel comfortable. Beach towels are also provided. Paradise-like place with very little locals, serene. Keep in mind that there is no house reef on Beau Vallon, which was a disappointment for me. No snorkelling, unless you take a boat with the Diving club to see some of the marine life. Otherwise, the beach is a dream. Services: There is a gym, inside pool, spa (expensive), kids club and other things required for 5-star hotel I haven’t used. The car rental is available at the hotel – very good. There has been an entertainment at the restaurants few times during our stay. I like the place in particular because it is quiet and restful. Keep in mind that this Savoy is not part of the international Savoy chain, but rather a private business. Generally speaking, the service is of a high standard, staff and management responsive and accommodating.

The worst part: the hotel decided to host a corporate event, bringing in around 500 guests, and threw a loud party until 2 a.m. Music was blasting, the walls were shaking, and families with children were kept awake. Multiple requests from guests to lower the volume or stop the music were completely ignored. It is obvious that the hotel does not care about regular holidaymakers. Their own private events come first. Respect for guests — zero. If you are looking for a peaceful holiday, service and comfort, choose another hotel. Savoy Seychelles is a major disappointment.

Amazing locations and attentive positive staff left the best impressions. In our room was a bit noisy (music from the cars on public parking), and wifi speed sometimes really low, but other things were wonderful.

Firstly this is not a 5 star resort. More a 3 star. We paid over €2200 per night for the Penthouse over new year. Aside from complimentary bottles of water and a fruit platter, nothing extra was done for us. The inclusion of the Gala Dinner was on our hotel confirmation yet upon confirming our attendance they did not have our booking. I booked a table again at reception and once again the next morning they still did not have our booking. I pre ordered a bottle of champagne for new year, it arrived after midnight, warm and in a plastic ice bucket with plastic cups. The DJ had a Spotify play list including the ads so after every song there was a pause until the ads were finished. The food at both restaurants is very poor, instead of eating breakfast at the hotel, which was included, we took a taxi most mornings into Victoria for breakfast. The hotel needs maintenance very badly and the decor in the Grand Savoy restaurant desperately needs updating. The tennis court is a mess. Service is very poor, we had to leave the pool area 3 times due to no fresh towels being available and no service. The mattresses on the Cabanas were dirty with hair. There is often very loud music playing from the Beau Vallon Beach car park next door. It is incredibly loud. The hotel also had continuous Christmas music playing until well into the new year. The Spa was good and the treatments, I enjoyed. The Penthouse is a great accommodation if you love more space. The Manager, Sergei, is a very nice guy and he sorted out a few things for us but these problems should not arise in the first place. This hotel is frequented 99.9 % by Russians. Thank you to Jonathan at the beach who managed to find some chairs for us. The place has huge potential but clearly the very least is done regarding upkeep.
