Best Alcazar

The place is superb for the price paid. The staff are really great, the food is very good, and the additional services/entertainment are also nice. There’s a spa, bowling, a great pool area, etc. The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus service to the beach of La Herradura. I must say that they are really trying to do their best. However, the rooms are a little bit outdated—ask for a sea view, which is truly amazing. I would not recommend this hotel to travelers without a car and with the desire to explore the surroundings. As always, Spanish/Andalusian public transport is a nightmare: expect heavy delays and arm yourself with a huge amount of patience.

Just returned from a week in July. 2 adults and 3 kids under 12. Had a really good stay. Apartments are aged but very clean and has most things you need. 3x pools all offer something different and could always get a couple of beds. Food was plentiful and varied. Different theme every night but still your staples for kids and adults. Small shop on site has water and snacks. Larger supermarkets are down the hill on the beach. The shuttle that takes you there and back is useful but pick up points seem to change, so always check with the driver. Beach is stones and silt but not too busy and has cafes and tourist shops. Resort was mainly Spanish guests, which we enjoyed. Entertainment through the day and evening. Really enjoyed the foam party and water carpet. Has bowling alley and arcade underneath reception. Staff were very accommodating although we did not need them much. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and it was good for the price we paid.

Very good hotel, average facilities but very good atmosphere, very nice and helpful staff, cleaning service very reliable. good food and nice pools, not overcrowded, open at 10 so you don't have to reserve sunbeds. we will definitely come back.

We stayed for five nights half board in a room overlooking the bottom pool. The first thing to say is there is no parking around the hotel at all. Luckily we have the Best card which reduces the daily cost from 14 euros to 7 euros per day. There is also a lift at the entrance of the car park so very easy to unpack your items. We chose this hotel mainly for it's pool areas and space and we were not disappointed they are stunning. Loads of sun loungers and to be honest with all the palms and greenery you could be somewhere far more exotic. There is now a fence around the pools and think it's to probably stop people hogging sun loungers before the pool areas open at 10.00 am. Great idea ! Really enjoyed the dining room experience, each night great choice of food and presented beautifully. Never too noisy but this could be different at the height of summer. My only criticism is at breakfast the hot food was not hot enough but again great choice for everyone. Another nice thing loads of coffee stations so no queuing. Found all staff welcoming and friendly. Gets a bit hectic for the pool bar staff but were always friendly even when under pressure. The cleaning ladies are phenomenal they just don't stop. I have never mentioned in any review about the animation team but they were brilliant getting people going in and around the pool areas. Overall a wonderful relaxing stay and 100 percent will return.

The hotel is great- we had a really good week. One of our party has a gluten intolerance and the hotel could not do enough for us and provided plenty of food and snacks. On the whole we found the staff to be happy and helpful, the rooms were clean and spacious, there was plenty of room at the different pools, even when people put their towels out early. Towels can be hired from the spa for use round the pool, so you dont need to bring towels with you. They can be changed daily. The food was lovely and varied, with food themed nights. Sometimes some of the food wasn't piping hot, but that's to be expected in a buffet dining room catering for that amount of people! The drinks were all branded even the alcohol and included cocktails. We quickly realised this is a hotel where the Spanish holiday, and as such the evening entertainment was all in spanish- maybe it's different during busier seasons. A few things we felt could be tweaked- not necessarily criticism- there is no kettle in the rooms- we British love a tea! However there was a hob and saucepan so we made do. In the dining room, the coffee machines are available at breakfast, but tea bags are put away in a cupboard, so you have to get the attention of the very busy staff and ask for some. - why can't they be left out? And there is no tea or coffee available during lunch or dinner. The staff in the dining rooms are very busy and drinks are table service only so sometimes there is a long wait for drinks. We may well come back again as this hotel fit our needs.
