We returned to the Yaramar in March for the first time since its refurbishment was completed. As in every other visit, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the Yaramar certainly remains as our go to hotel in this area of the Costa del Sol. Its location opposite the beach and in the lovely area of Los Boliches make it an ideal place to stay. That’s not to say it’s perfect! The new reception and the main bar/entertainment areas have all been refurbished and have certainly improved the overall look and feel of the hotel. It was good to see some familiar faces amongst the staff, not least Alicia in reception, who is more than a part of the building! Our room was excellent and immaculately cleaned daily by the housekeeping staff. A fridge and safe were provided and the bed was extremely comfortable. Wardrobe space was good. The bathroom was excellent and the walk in shower fabulous. My wife’s only comment was that it’s a shame a vanity mirror was not provided over the dressing table. We don’t usually use the swimming pool but we did on a couple of occasions this time. All was fine. Beach towels are provided and can be changed as required. Plenty of loungers and shades, although it’s sad to see that some cannot resist ‘bagging’ their places once the pool area opens. The poolside bar/cafe provides food and drink if required. The restaurant. The only area where we were less than totally happy. No refurbishments here and we missed William, who we were told had left - after many years of fine service. Sad that he’s left but hope he’s gone onto good things. We were however well looked after by a great crew and it was good to see some familiar faces in Cristian, Roccio (what a girl!) and Doris as well as Elias and Lucia. The food we would describe as adequate and not to the standard or quality as we have experienced in the past. Breakfast was generally fine though the quality of some ingredients, bread in particular were not, in our opinion, great. For dinner, there was plenty on offer but few main dishes looked appealing or tasted great. The salads were excellent. Whatever your tastes, you could surely could find something to eat but the ‘dinner experience’ overall was not 4* just adequate. The Hotel Yaramar is a very good hotel in a great location, with great staff. We will be returning and look forward to it. PS: Photos will not upload!!
Brilliant hotel and staff, in a great position. Food was especially good, menu changed every day for the whole fortnight (which is unusual in other hotels we have stayed in). Our room was comfortable and exceptionally clean. Weather was not the best so being on the front of the hotel , the rough sea kept us awake. No chance of an early night because of noise from the entertainment going on till 11pm. Good value for money with all the facilities. The hairdresser in the hotel was especially good. Only negative was the price of the beer, 6 euro a pint and 3 euro for a small coca cola.
I stayed here 2 weeks ago and we have repeated again. I have to say i love this hotel and i live in Estepona so we travel down a lot. But this is one of the best hotels in Fuengirola. Food is really good with a great choice. Right across the road from the beach and bear all the good restaurants . Great rooms with sea views and spotless.
Please reinstate your previous furnishings. Really missed having drawers, coat hooks and a mirror near the balcony doors.
We recently stayed at the Yaramar as we were unable to get into the Angela. I had been told over the years that the Yaramar was the superior of the Two so I was happy to change. First impressions were very good it is more spacious than the Angela and appeared to offered more evening entertainment options. Our room had a sea view and was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The staff on the whole were very pleasant and helpful. As you may have surmised there is a but. The evening meals were a disappointment! there was a wide selection, in my opinion too wide, as this impacted the quality. There was only one evening when we found more than one option to our liking which was the Tuesday when we spoilt for choice. We chose to eat out on a couple of evenings such was our disappointment. Lastly on the day of our departure we had requested an early breakfast as we were on an early flight. There was no coffee or fruit juice available, only tea without milk, so no cereals then. There was a sandwich of cheese and ham plated up under cling film, along wit a couple of items of fruit. The sandwich had stale bread and we got the impression they had been made up the night before and left on the tables. Now we didn't expect hot food but the quality and the options were poor. ( I might add that we had experienced the similar early breakfast at the Angela and vowed not to bother in Future). So nearly got it right Yaramar!
