Mandarava Resort & Spa

Everything was great! Location is perfect, living in a jungles. Really good massage at the Cheewa spa: therapists Air and Milky.

We booked Mandarava Resort and Spa for 7 nights and overall we had a great stay. The hotel is beautiful, set in forest-like surroundings with lovely grounds, clean rooms and a peaceful tropical feel. Everything was very well looked after, both inside and outside. There always seemed to be staff cleaning and maintaining the resort, which really showed. The service was very good throughout our stay. The staff were attentive, helpful and always smiling. It genuinely felt like service with warmth, and the Thai people we met were kind, welcoming and lovely. When we first arrived there was a problem with our room, but the hotel manager, Nong, reacted very quickly and moved us to another room which we were happy with. While we waited in the lobby, Nong sat with us and took the time to get to know us. She was a lovely lady and made us feel really welcome from the start. The only slight negative is that the hotel grounds are extremely hilly. In the heat, it can be quite difficult to get around on foot, so you do need to be in reasonably good health and fairly fit if you plan to walk around the resort. That said, the hotel does have a very efficient buggy service which transports guests around the hotel grounds, and this worked very well. Breakfast had a wide variety of dishes to choose from, but by the fifth morning we did feel the selection became a little repetitive. It would be nice if the hotel could freshen the breakfast menu up a bit during the week to keep it more interesting for longer stays. Room service was also good. We ordered pizza one evening and it was delicious. The staff were always on hand if we needed help with anything, and they were quick to answer questions and find solutions. There is also a regular buggy service to Karon Beach, with pick-ups back to the hotel throughout the day, which was very useful. The night before we checked out, Nong was there again and was truly sorry to see us leave. By then she felt more like a friend, and we would love to go back and pay her a visit the next time we are in the area. Would I stay there again? Yes, I would. However, next time I would probably like to experience another hotel that is a little closer to the beach and not quite as hilly. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay and a memorable, happy experience.

We loved the room, we had an ocean facing room - which was beautiful! The breakfast buffet had everything you could want or need. There were many different pools to choose from, all with a swim up bar. I went with my wife and mother in law, no complaints!
