The Leaf Oceanside by Katathani

We absolutely loved our stay at The Leaf Oceanside! From the moment we arrived, staff were helpful and friendly. They greeted us like old friends. We had an overnight flight so arrived before the 2pm check in but they sorted out our room sooner and we checked in at 1pm. Even with them letting us check in an hour early they apologised for the wait!! The room was absolutely spotless and huge. Twin beds as requested with a large bathroom, air conditioning and a balcony overlooking the garden. The shower gel in the bathroom smelt amazing and it was nicer on my skin than the one I brought with me! It was a small hotel but because of this, you quickly become acquainted with the staff and other guests which was lovely. There were only a few children when we visited at the start of July who were quiet and well-behaved which we really appreciated! The restaurant on site was absolutely beautiful. We didn’t venture out to other establishments until our last couple of nights because we enjoyed the food so much and the prices were fantastic. Breakfast was so tasty and although there wasn’t much variety day to day (other than the juices and the Thai dishes), there was something for everyone! Drinks were very affordable, we particularly enjoyed getting two frozen mocktails which cost 110 baht each. The lychee and the pink guava were especially delicious! Smoking is limited to your room balcony and the designated smoking area which I thought was a lovely idea. As a smoker myself, I didn’t find it inconvenient at all and it also stopped the hotel smelling the cigarette smoke. The grounds are well kept and full of greenery. It feels like a tropical paradise with orchids growing from the palm trees and wild fruit. There was a resident monitor lizard hanging around by the pool who was totally unbothered by the people around and fascinating to watch. We had multiple massages under the cabana outside, even when it was raining, it was cool and dry with fans on the ceilings. The massage therapists were phenomenal and we left each massage feeling like we were floating! They found all of our problem areas without us having to say a word in advance. The location is fantastic with access to the beach literally across the road. It’s beautiful but it’s a shame there’s quite a lot of litter! It takes around 10 minutes to walk to the main road from the hotel and 15 mins to the 7/11 but this was no issue for us as we appreciated being away from the bustle of the main road. There were only a couple of negative things to mention from our week stay. There was a gap somewhere in our bathroom either under the sink or the bathroom window, which allowed geckos and mosquitoes into our room. We got bitten to death every night which was a shame despite going through a whole bottle of Soffell mosquito spray every other day. It might be worth the staff checking that room (7482) to identify where the issue is. The hotel also had construction work which we understood to be an urgent repair of the reception roof damaged by the weather and unable to wait. However, while we were there, new paths were also being laid, the driveway was being redone and the noise was incredibly disruptive the whole week. We weren’t given any notice about the non-essential building work and as we booked nearly a year in advance, I would’ve expected to have been informed as early as possible or offered compensation on our stay for the constant noise. However, I understand and empathise with them that the roof repair was not anticipated. You could wash clothes on site but the dryer was out of order. This was slightly problematic as the humidity from the monsoon season meant that nothing dried on the balcony overnight. All in all, the hotel was fantastic and we would absolutely stay here again. The warmth and helpfulness of the staff made us feel at home immediately and we were very sad to leave! A special thank you to Ta in the restaurant, the bellboy and the lady in reception who helped us with excursion and transportation. Thank you for having us! We understand why so many people come back year after year. We hope to visit again in the future :)

Well what can I say this hotel is fantastic we loved every minute of our stay the staff amazing and they're happy smiley faces brightened me up daily pools were great room faultless hotel food and drinks fantastic not much more praise I can give the place we loved it

We had a lovely stay here in Khao Lak. The hotel is in a lovely quiet location and is modern & clean. Our room was lovely - great shower, access to fridge, cleaned everyday and aircon was good. The pool area is fab - always able to get a sunbed. The hotel offers great food and drinks at reasonable prices! The staff here are incredible - so friendly and helpful! definately Recommend for staying at Khao Lak!

Stayed a week Quiet location but 10 min walk to Main Street with bars and a short drive to night market. Room was lovely, beds firm but can provide a soft mattress topper so was very comfy. Room cleaned each day and had everything by we needed Staff are amazing and can’t do enough for you and the food was lovely. Prices for food and drink were very reasonable and service great. Hotel pool was a good size abs temperature and comfy beds Shame the bar shut so early as due to the rain we didn’t venture out as much as planned of a night Would recommend - hard to find a place that ticks so many boxes as this with all of the staff friendly, helpful and attentive

1st time to Thailand, motel and staff were exceptional.My beautiful wife and I stayed for 2weeks here and never had a problem and was always greeted with kindness and a big smile,breakfast was included and was always fresh and delicious,would definitely recommend,especially for the price and location and even if you surf,there was actually 2-3ft waves both sides of the lighthouse coming in with some fun peaks.Dont worry about a board,you can hire short or long boards from the one hire place at one of the resorts on the beach.
