X10 Khaolak Resort

We have had a wonderful time here at X10, so much so we have rebooked for next year which we have never done before! We stayed in block 6 which is central to everything We were all inclusive - which we won’t do next time as many restaurants to try around Khaolak The buffet breakfast was great - omelettes made to order and a constant top up of coffee Lunch was delicious ( at the main restaurant) huge portions! ( ordered from a menu) Could easily share between two people, same portions given to children ( must have quite a bit of food waste) As Ai guests we were not able to use the snack menu at the beach bar which was disappointing- As Ai guests you could book the Seafood Restaurant once per week- didn’t try so can’t comment . We used the buffet in the evening at the main restaurant where you could get made to order dishes, food was very varied and delicious included ‘kids corner’ and Thai food, fresh salads, desserts and continental cheese and meat sections.Some of the dishes could be inconsistent with regards to temperature - we tended to have dinner early Drinks wise- Soft drinks were available from 10am and alcoholic drinks from 12, not top shelf branded for AI. Hot drinks available from a coffee machine located near to main lobby Rooms were spotlessly cleaned daily, Entertainment not the best we have experienced , but there are lots of entertainment in nearby Khaolak town The staff are an absolute credit to this hotel, very friendly, respectful, hardworking and professional The best we have ever come across on our travels, Direct beach access just added to our amazing experience at this hotel- There was cake and drink in our room on my birthday which was a lovely suprise❤️Only knocked the one point off for not being allowed the food at the beach bar and the limited AI drinks which irked a little , and we certainly didn’t go hungry or thirsty but otherwise we had the most wonderful experience at the hotel Roll on next year!!xx❤️

Check in experience was like a military operation, lots of rules and dos and donts, asked us to inform of anyone caught smoking as its a non smoking hotel and can be fined 2000 baht . Room was smaller than other hotels we have stayed in before but pool area was lovely with swim up rooms in a good position. Rooms were clean and nice bathroom toiletries. Breakfast was plentiful but quite bland . Hotel is quite remote with no bars or restaurants within 10 minute walk but hotel charge 50 baht per person to take to busier areas.

If you ever want a quiet, clean place, with a beautiful beach with fine sand, excellent accommodation with attentive staff, where you can enjoy a varied and fresh breakfast, please choose this resort, you will not be disappointed. The only minus I have, and it's not the hosts' fault, is that I stayed too short. I can't wait for my next vacation.

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks. Long enough to check it out. The room is bizarre (ours was). It's spacious with a balcony, but the bathroom and toilet layout is simply stupid. The sink is integrated into the room (sic!). The toilet and shower are behind a sliding wall, which is admittedly matte, but when you turn on the light (which also activates the extractor fan...), the person in the room can see what's happening on the toilet. And hear it! Because this wall offers virtually no soundproofing. I've never seen anything so absurd anywhere, and my wife and I have been traveling the world for half a century. From a recreational perspective, it's excellent. 5 pools, a beautiful beach, and no problem accessing pool beds (before 9:00 AM). I've seen some truly bizarre complaints: the pool water is too warm (seriously!) – it's around body temperature. Every morning there's either stretching or some other form of exercise (yoga) – information at reception. There's also a spa and an exercise room with exercise equipment. There aren't many activities in the evenings. There are two performances (Polynesian and Thai dance) twice a week, the latter very weak, and one fireworks show (short), but nothing more. A plus is that the TV has an app (scroll down in the guide and enter the third app) that lets you connect your phone to the screen. This allows you to watch movies and series from Netflix or HBO on the big screen (SkyShowtime doesn't work in Thailand). Food: Breakfast is okay, but there's not much choice. We had a full board, so we tried three meals. Some reviews complain about the breakfast being crowded. With your room key card, you'll get the information: 6:30-8:00 (quiet), 8:00-9:00 (busy), 9:00-10:30 (very busy). And that's exactly what it is. We ate before 8:00. There were quite a few people, but it wasn't crowded. It's strange that the meal served by the waiters from the menu (very diverse, with large portions) is lunch. In the evening, just like in the morning, there's a buffet. So, those on half board will be a bit disadvantaged. In our opinion, all-inclusive is pointless if you're looking for interesting drinks. There are plenty of them, but you can barely taste the alcohol in them. Overall, the hotel is good, but a bit overpriced – in my opinion, the value for money is 4.5/6.

We stayed here last November; the resort is overall an excellent choice of location for a relaxing stay in Thailand. Located directly at the beach with a short walk into the local town which offers many additional restaurants of top-class quality and multiple shops. The X10 itself has a very relaxed atmosphere, is kept clean and has exceptionally friendly staff. Highlights for us from our stay would include the outstanding breakfast with many Thai and European options available. The cooking class experience in the private kitchen garden, including the personal attention and informative instructions from Head Chef Rakjui and Senior Supervisor Ms. Saw was absolutely brilliant. Special mention must also go to Hr. Yog for his always happy attitude and for keeping my coffee up always topped up in the morning, to Ms. Pompam for keeping the restaurant spotless and always with a smile, to Ms. May for her amazing carvings for the cocktail drinks preparation.
