The ShellSea Krabi

Beautiful luxurious quiet hotel. Lovely hotel grounds with two gorgeous swimming pools. All the staff were amazing, friendly and attentive especially in the restaurants and around the pools. The beach was a little disappointing as there are no sun beds on it, although you could take a bean bag down to lie on, but with no umbrella for shade. The beach is very private with just hotel guests and some local fishermen with their boats. The hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere which adds to its peace and calm. We used the spa and had a couples massage which was amazing! There is a shuttle bus into Ao Nang which is a total contrast to the hotel, very busy and lively.

We came for lunar break this year with our two year old. We were upgraded on arrival to a swim up suite. This turned out to be amazing for us. The swim up pool was perfect as a wading pool for our two year old. She spent so much time safely playing in there! The rooms were comfy, the staff were really friendly, and the ocean was wonderful. We loved the private beach, which the other guests never used.

BEWARE the weddings!!!!!! Had a 3 night stay and 2 nights were weddings so one restaurant we couldnt use ( nicest one with good views). We were given a room opposite the whole wedding which was just dreadful ( you put the wedding guests in there not people not connected) we asked to be moved as no way my last 3 nights chilling before heading home i wanted to be disturbed from 4pm to midnight for 2 nights!!!!!! Only option upgrade to a private villa which we did and paid extra ! Definitely would not recommend this hotel too many weddings and they lied as said 1 wedding only that weekend ( lady on reception Most insistent just the one ) but it was 2 and she knew it Also only restaurant to use when weddings on were slow and very disinterested in guests, table booked at 8pm we got drinks at 9.15pm!!! After hubby went and got them off bar, it was not busy and massively lacked atmosphere Very disappointed finish to our 3 week trip of Thailand

The ShellSea sea view room was magnificent! Patio is at the beautiful pool where you can swim to the Fin bar. Food at the bar offered an international cuisine which was tasty and the drinks good. The Celeuren restaurant was okay. The breakfast wasn’t great. The Thai food had heavy sauces like bbq and the satay and bacon had bits of tough meat. Glad the breakfast was free.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Much quieter than other areas, the hotel was very peaceful. Rooms are spacious and we had a beautiful sea view. Staff were amazing (particular shout out to bar/restaurant staff member Ann). The swimming pools are as good as they look in the hotel photos. For a busier day out you can get a free shuttle to Ao Nang which is a noisier busier holiday location. All in all a very relaxing few days.
